My oldest daughter, Tatum, and I had the opportunity this week to review a really cute website called FP Girl.\u00a0 FP Girl is an “online fashion community” geared towards girls ages 5-12 who like to design their own clothes and accessories.\u00a0 Tatum will be 5 in a few months and loves the fashion world.\u00a0 Recently while trying on clothes together she looked at me and said “Mom, you call that fashion?”\u00a0 I did, but clearly she did not.\u00a0 So, this was a great opportunity for her to go in and design her own model, studio, and outfits and to show me what “fashion” actually is.<\/p>\n

Our first trip to FPGirl.com was a bit overwhelming as there were so many options of clothes to design.\u00a0 Someone a bit older who could navigate and read on their own would have been fine as they would have been in control to go where they wanted and read and see all their options. The site is fairly easy to navigate, but for children under 8 or 9 you might need to check it out first to help give them a little direction.\u00a0 Going back in a second time I was able to control\u00a0 things a bit more so there wouldn’t be as many options for Tatum.\u00a0 I simply had her choose a dress as opposed to choosing between 9 dresses, 11 shirts, 11 bottoms, etc.\u00a0 Same for the embellishments and design options to put on the dresses. She loved creating a model and putting the clothes she designed on the model, but she LOVED\u00a0 designing a dress for her baby doll.\u00a0 What mother doesn’t love shopping for their baby?!<\/p>\n

In about 3 weeks we should be getting the dress she designed for herself as well as the one she designed for her baby.\u00a0 I can’t wait to share the results with everyone and I’m 100% sure there will be a little giveaway included with the results posts, maybe even 2!!\u00a0 The true test will be if her Fashion Playtes dress is a better fit and of better quality than the one she sewed for herself back in December!!<\/p>\n
