We wanted to share with you some fall decorating tips today. \u00a0I love decorating for all holidays, and Maureen asked me to show you what I displayed around my house for fall. I love rustic charm and fall is the perfect time of year to display antiques mixed with decorative pumpkins and gourds.<\/p>\n

So with that said… here’s is a little taste of my personal decor!<\/p>\n

Mantels with Windows
\n<\/strong><\/em>I love displaying unexpected items on my mantel. \u00a0Every year I try a new look… I went with creams, whites & tans this year, for a more sophisticated style. \u00a0Since I’m hosting Thanksgiving this year as well, I decided to put out more of a fall harvest feel around the \u00a0house. \u00a0You will see a few little touches of Halloween, but I will quickly remove those as soon as Halloween is over, and then my house is still decked out and ready for guests (without a lot of work on my end).<\/p>\n

I layered old windows and shutters for my backdrop. \u00a0Then I added rustic candlesticks & \u00a0spindles for height…<\/p>\n

\u00a0I designed an “Autumn” printable, and strung it with twine. \u00a0I used old medicine bottles wrapped with book pages and inserted dried wheat.<\/p>\n

Buffet with Silver & Gourds
\n<\/strong><\/em>For my dining room, I wanted to be able to keep some of my silver out, but didn’t want the room to feel too formal. \u00a0I mixed in old books, a vintage scale, and thick netting to warm the room. \u00a0I use “faux” glittery gourds & pumpkins – the real ones are my favorite but they tend to mold quickly inside… so I opt for glitter! \u00a0If you look closely, I do mix in real pine cones found in my yard, so it doesn’t feel completely fake.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>Antique scales are perfect for fall harvest… I put a silver platter, lined with black eyed peas and topped it with a silver gourd. \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span>You will notice my “boo” sign in the back… this little element gives a hint of Halloween, which I love, and once I remove it, the room is ready for Thanksgiving!<\/p>\n

\u00a0I used my silver pitchers and turned them into vases. \u00a0I added cotton, coffee beans, feathers & split peas.<\/span><\/p>\n

I sat out haunted photographs, and haunted books to give that spooky feel. \u00a0Again, once I remove those tiny touches, it is ready for Thanksgiving.<\/p>\n

I think my favorite display in this room is my table centerpiece. \u00a0Again, I wanted to display silver, but needed it to not be so formal.
\nHow fun are these candlesticks with pine cones? \u00a0I sat them on an antique cupboard door, and I \u00a0tied little scraps of orange fabric on them to give some color…. easy and whimsical – just how I like it!<\/p>\n
