We wanted to show you a dessert Maureen came up with for the shoot – Meringue Elf Hats – they are just too cute for words!<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

See the little elf hats sitting on the shelf ? \u00a0So sweet!<\/p>\n

Once meringue is made, add your red food coloring (note – you need a lot of red food coloring)<\/p>\n

Put red meringue into piping bag. \u00a0Pipe meringue so that it is wider at the base, and then thinner at the top.<\/p>\n

While the meringue bakes in the oven, some of the hats will tilt or even fold slightly – just like a real hat would!<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

Once meringues have hardened\/cooled, next comes decorating the hat rim.<\/p>\n

Using white melting chocolate, dip the base of the hat in the chocolate.<\/p>\n

Then dip the hat into white sprinkes (we used non-pareils beads).<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

Let them dry and they are ready to serve!<\/p>\n

They look just like elf hats!<\/p>\n
