The Savvy Socialista<\/a> \u00a0is a company that helps businesses grow through social media marketing, web design, branding, and graphic design services. \u00a0The owner, Jami Lindberg, has given us a little Pinterest<\/a> 101 lesson. \u00a0Sure, we all know how to pin and the addiction of it that creates late nights and loss of productivity at work, but Jami tells us how to make it work for us. \u00a0So, the next time your boss brings up your pinning addiction, you’ll have some ammo and can just let him\/her know “you’re growing their business!”<\/div>\n

I have a love\/hate relationship with\u00a0Pinterest<\/a>. \u00a0I’ll admit it….it’s FABULOUS! \u00a0I can pretty much find anything I need to find, from shoes to my recipe for dinner! \u00a0I use it consistently for business, not only mine but my clients. \u00a0But the hate side….I hate that I’m loosing sleep because I simply can not stop pinning, once I’ve started! \u00a0Please tell me I’m not the only one! \u00a0By now, pretty much everyone knows about Pinterest<\/a>\u00a0<\/b>and what a great resource it is for\u2026well, everything. \u00a0And let\u2019s not even talk about how addicting it is! \u00a0Let\u2019s look into it a bit further\u2026<\/div>\n

Pinterest is essentially a\u00a0visual marketing tool.\u00a0 There are a number of sites and platforms that serve as social bookmarking tools, but\u00a0Pinterest<\/strong>\u00a0has taken it to another level that appeals to some more basic human needs: the ability to browse content in a minimalist,\u00a0visual<\/em>\u00a0way and the notion that when we encounter strangers (either online or offline), we make a connection\u00a0<\/strong>through a common interest and the sharing of that interest. \u00a0Enter Pinterest\u2019s solution:\u00a0Boards<\/strong>. Users\u00a0create their own boards\u00a0around anything that they\u2019re passionate about, and Pinterest gives a limited number of categories into which your boards can fit. I can build a board to share fabulous\u00a0party ideas<\/a>,\u00a0funny quotes<\/a>\u00a0all the way to showcasing the\u00a0logos<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0websites<\/a>\u00a0my biz has created!<\/div>\n

So many of us love to share our little one’s birthday parties. \u00a0We’ve worked so hard on the printables, decor and food…we’ve hired a photographer and gone all out and by gosh, we want people to see it! \u00a0Again….Pinterest is the answer! \u00a0Upload your fabulous party pics and allow people to gaze on the perfect party!<\/div>\n

Do you own your own biz and wondering, how Pinterest could further it? \u00a0I promise you, the brands that will be successful are the ones that\u00a0<\/b>utilize Pinterest to it’s full ability. \u00a0The potential for people to see your product\/service is great, just keep in mind…it’s not all about you! \u00a0Spread the love and make sure your pinning others work. Allow Pinterest to let your future clients know who you are by pinning other things you like!\u00a0Of course, you\u2019ll want to use Pinterest to drive sales \u2013 particularly if you\u2019re in the e-commerce business so yes, for sure post all of your product on different boards!<\/div>\n
