We are so excited to share with you this new children’s book, “I am Mixed”<\/strong><\/em>, written by Garcelle Beauvais and Sebastian A. Jones (a wonderful book teaching kids about diversity). \u00a0Celebrity stylist, Anya Sarre, contacted us to design an invitation for the book launch party in Santa Monica at an adorable children’s book store, Books & Cookies<\/a>. \u00a0We also designed stickers, and bag tags for their fabulous party gifts. \u00a0We were honored by the request and loved being a part of Garcelle’s special day. \u00a0The gorgeous photography was captured by\u00a0Jay Lawrence Goldman.<\/p>\n

Our friend, Anya Sarre<\/a>, shares the details of this memorable event as follows:<\/p>\n

Garcelle Beauvais celebrated with friends and family at the launch for her new children\u2019s book \u201cI Am Mixed<\/a>\u201d written with Sebastian A. Jones at Books and Cookies <\/i>in Santa Monica. \u00a0Friends who came to celebrate with Garcelle included Holly Robinson Peete, Laila Ali, Lisa Leslie, Dania Rameriz, Nicole Ari Parker, Boris Kodjoe, Chi McBride, Henry Simmons, Vanessa Angel and Toni Duclottni.<\/p>\n

Guests enjoyed a morning filled with brunch by Citron Catering<\/i>, snacks by <\/i>Happy Family Snacks<\/i><\/a>, <\/i>activities for the kids and a book reading by Garcelle. <\/i>The adults sipped wine from MommyJuice<\/i> Wines<\/i><\/a> under Mixed Up Clothing<\/i><\/a> t-shirts and ethnic inspired printed accessories that hung on colorful clothespins as decoration. Attendees were seen checking out Foxy Vida bags with \u201cI Am Mixed\u201d books that were all around the store.<\/p>\n

The kids had a ball making custom stuffed animals with \u201cI Am Mixed\u201d t-shirts from Johnny\u2019s Animaland<\/i>. After kids finished arts & crafts with Urban Sitters<\/i>, they used wipes from Ub\u00ebr Mom Wipeboxes<\/i> to clean their hands before diving into the bite-sized cupcakes from Magnolia Bakery<\/i>. While kids drank juice from Lollacups <\/i>with their treats, <\/i>the parents drank Conscious Bean<\/i>\u2019s organic coffee from Daddy Scrubs mugs at the Daddy Scrubs <\/i>coffee bar.<\/p>\n

Garcelle did an exclusive reading of \u201cI Am Mixed\u201d to a packed room of adults and kids including her three sons, Oliver, Jax and Jaid. The room was decorated with custom Butterscotch Blankee<\/i> pillows bearing the names of the characters in the book. After the reading, guests like Christie Lynn Smith and her kids nibbled on cookies in the shape of \u201cI Am Mixed\u201d characters baked by 3 Men & a Lil Lady Sweet Treats<\/i>.<\/p>\n

Guests left with a signed copy of Garcelle\u2019s book along with an elephant print from The Animal Print Shop<\/i> in gift bags with bag tags made in theme with the invitations by Anders Ruff<\/i>.<\/p>\n

The event was planned by Style Expert, Anya Sarre<\/a> of Styled by Anya, Inc <\/i>and Chudney Ross of Books and Cookies.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n
