Her style is so classic and cool and I love her take on this theme!\u00a0 I love that this pirate birthday party is so cool and vintage feeling!<\/p>\n

Party Details… (in Xiomara’s words)<\/h3>\n
This year we decided\u00a0to go with a Pirate inspired party for William\u2019s 4th Birthday. He\u00a0loves to pretend he is Jake (from Jake and Neverland Pirates) and go\u00a0on \u201ctreasure hunts\u201d around the house, so a pirate themed party seemed\u00a0like the obvious choice for him.<\/p>\n
I found some really cute napkins that\u00a0looked like a map and I was immediately inspired to design the party\u00a0around them. I loved the idea of a neutral color palette with hints of\u00a0green, gold and navy blue. I am not a fan of skulls and I realize that\u00a0they are a staple on every pirate party out there but I really wanted\u00a0something more subtle but that would still say \u201cpirate party.\u201d<\/p>\n
Anders\u00a0Ruff designed the perfect pirate printables<\/strong><\/a> for the party using a vintage map,\u00a0compass and pirate ship graphics. All the party details were\u00a0beautifully captured by Stacy Hart Photography.<\/p>\n
PARTY DECOR:<\/h3>\nWe encouraged our little guests to come dressed as pirates. When they\u00a0arrived to the party, they were greeted with a table set up with eye\u00a0patches, Jake\u2019s bandanas<\/a><\/strong>, pirate hooks <\/a><\/strong>and Izzy\u2019s pixie dust necklaces for\u00a0everyone to wear.<\/p>\n
One of my favorite elements I created for the party was the huge\u00a0\u201dtreasure map\u201d table runner for the kids table. While I am obviously\u00a0not an illustrator, I had so much fun drawing all the islands, sea\u00a0creatures, pirate ships and coming up with silly names for all the\u00a0creeks and lagoons on it. The kids really enjoyed it too!<\/p>\n
I also purchased cardboard treasure chests for each of our little\u00a0pirate friends and arranged them on the kids table. The treasure\u00a0chests contained pirate booty, \u201cpirate jewels\u201d (fresh fruit cups), a\u00a0rolled \u201cmap\u201d (napkin with silverware) and a toy compass.\u00a0I used navy blue lanterns and gold wooden pirate ships for\u00a0centerpieces.<\/p>\n
The adults tables were decorated with wooden crates, glass bottles\u00a0with jute, gold coins, skeleton keys and an anchor.<\/p>\n
DESSERT TABLE:<\/h3>\n
I used a two tier gray washed console to set up the dessert table and\u00a0a burlap covered canvas for our backdrop. To bring in some of the\u00a0\u201dJake and Neverland Pirate\u201d details, I made a pennant banner from\u00a0storybook pages which I feel was a good way to incorporate it into the\u00a0party d\u00e9cor. The desserts consisted of the cake that resembled a\u00a0pirate ship at sea, cannon balls (chocolate malted balls<\/strong><\/a>), chocolate\u00a0gold doubloons<\/strong><\/a>, skeleton bones (white chocolate pretzels) and\u00a0crocodile gummies<\/strong> <\/a>arranged next to a vintage clock (tick tock croc\u00a0gummies). Perhaps my favorite sweet treat at the table were the\u00a0beautifully detailed compass cookies by Sweet Goosie Girl which were\u00a0not only gorgeous, but yummy too!<\/p>\n
At the bottom of the console I arranged the party favors. Each boy\u00a0took home a pirate sword and every girl received a pirate princess\u00a0tiara, both with a coordinating thank you tag.<\/p>\n
ENTERTAINMENT:<\/h3>\nNo pirate party would be complete without a pirate ship! I knew\u00a0William and his friends would love to play pretend inside a pirate\u00a0ship. I found a cardboard pirate ship here<\/strong><\/a> and painted it to give it a more realistic\u00a0look.\u00a0 The kids absolutely\u00a0loved it! Next to the pirate ship, the kids had so much fun walking\u00a0the plank.<\/p>\n
Since my little pirate loves adventure, we hired a pirate entertainer\u00a0to come to the party. He made William captain for the day, gave each\u00a0child a pirate certificate, lead them on a treasure hunt and made\u00a0balloon swords. The kids loved the balloon sword fight! After this,\u00a0they got to fire their \u201cpirate ammunition\u201d which were actually party\u00a0confetti poppers.<\/p>\n
FOOD:<\/h3>\n
I decided to make a pasta bar for the party. William\u2019s favorite food\u00a0in the world is mac n cheese and the pasta bar idea seemed like a good\u00a0way to serve everyone a dish they could customize to their liking. It\u00a0was not only delicious but also fun and interactive! We had three\u00a0choices of pasta: \u201csea\u201d shells, penne, spaghetti and three choices of\u00a0sauce: homemade meat sauce, alfredo and cheese sauce. Toppings\u00a0included grilled chicken, saut\u00e9ed onions, peppers, mushrooms,\u00a0broccoli, parsley and grated parmesan cheese. We also served a salad\u00a0and bread rolls. The kids sipped on some apple juice from plastic milk\u00a0bottles adorned with jute.<\/p>\n
