Last week, I shared Jeffrey’s Vintage Detective Party<\/a>,<\/strong> which was a hit amongst both our fans and the 9 year old party attendees!\u00a0 Overall, the feedback has been fabulous – everyone loves the activity ideas (keep them busy at the party!) as well as the printable detective party<\/a><\/strong> graphics, and the desserts… so thank you so much for the positive input!<\/p>\n

One super fun part of creating new parties, for me, is coming up with easy and unique ways to transform foods into theme appropriate desserts (that often don’t require baking!).\u00a0 We realize that not everyone bakes (You may remember my zillion attempts to finally “get” how to make macarons<\/a><\/strong>)\u00a0 Well, I love to use chocolate covered oreos to create fun desserts (Remember the Caprese Salad treats from Pierson’s Pizzeria Party<\/a><\/strong>, or the cute meringue topped Oreo desserts from our Sea Breeze Baby Shower<\/a><\/strong>, or the Gold Medal cookies from Grayce’s recent Gymnastics party<\/a><\/strong>).<\/p>\n

Today, I’m going to show you how to easily make these precious Magnifying Glass Cookies!<\/strong>\u00a0 Just a few simple steps and you are sure to impress those secret agents!<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

MATERIALS & SUPPLIES NEEDED:<\/strong>
\n\u2013 Black and White Melting Chocolate<\/a><\/strong>
\n\u2013 Oreos (We used Golden but you can use any flavor of your liking)
\n\u2013 Oreo Chocolate Mold<\/strong><\/a> (Most inexpensive one we found and it works like a charm)
\n\u2013 Icing Piping Containers<\/strong> <\/a>(Much easier than bags! This is our “go to” FAVORITE set<\/strong><\/a> that we use for icing, drizzling chocolate and more!)
\n\u2013 Popsicle Sticks<\/a><\/strong>
\n\u2013 Yellow Electrical Tape<\/strong><\/a> and Black Electrical Tape<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2013 Optional:<\/strong> <\/em>White and Black Royal Icing (Make according to your meringue powder <\/a><\/strong>recipe) or you can use the black and white melting chocolate (see note below)<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

STEPS:<\/strong>
\n1) Melt your black chocolate discs in a ramekin
\n2) Spoon a dollup of chocolate into the oreo mold<\/strong><\/a> cavity
\n3) Gently press an Oreo into the cavity.4) Add another dollup of chocolate on top of the oreo and smooth out with a spoon.\u00a0 We like to tap the mold onto the table to make the chocolate extra smooth
\n5) Place popsicle stick on top of the melted black chocolate oreo.\u00a0 Place in freezer for 10 minutes
\n6) Gently remove the oreos from the molds.\u00a0 <\/a><\/strong>
\n7) Using a piping container<\/a><\/strong> with a round tip, pipe white chocolate (or royal icing for a smoother look) around in a circle and fill in the circle.\u00a0 Then add the black ‘c’ shape for dimension.
\n8) Once dry, add the black and yellow electrical tape accents!<\/p>\n

Display on a cute platter with newspaper print wrapping paper liner<\/a> and a folding party label from our printable collection!<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n
