Fall means football! We were so excited to host a Football Party for some of J’s colleagues this past weekend.\u00a0 Wisconsin peeps are huge Packers football fans, so we knew this theme would be a hit.\u00a0 I designed the above football party invitation<\/strong> <\/a>to send out to all of our guests.<\/p>\n

We have always wanted to style a football party but never knew which team colors to choose that would appeal to the most amount of people.\u00a0 Then, I got the idea to put together a Vintage Football Party<\/strong> using neutral palette and just pop in some color from the natural green grass decorations.\u00a0 This would also be great for a football birthday party or a tailgate party!<\/p>\n

Whether you are a Packers fan, Michigan fan, Lions fan, Ohio State fan or any college or professional football fan, this printable collection<\/strong><\/a> makes it easy to mix in your own colors to support your team!\u00a0 The Printable Invitation and collection only have neutrals, so that means it goes with anything!<\/p>\n

Maureen’s Vintage Football Party Details:<\/strong><\/p>\n

I had so much fun planning this Vintage Football Party for my husband’s work team.\u00a0 He has been begging for us to have a football gathering, and now that we moved to Wisconsin, I know we have some Packers fanatics here!<\/p>\n

I started with the vintage style football party invitation<\/strong><\/a> that had a rustic and worn vibe. Don’t you love those old sports t-shirts that look worn? That was the look I was going for.<\/p>\n

I wanted to keep the palette neutral so that it went with any team colors.\u00a0 This is SO fun to work with because its a mix of tans, browns, white, creams.\u00a0 It goes with anyone’s home decor and is completely easy to mix in your own team colors.\u00a0 You could mix in tissue pops or tissue tassels, balloons, your favorite sport team jerseys or signs or props!<\/p>\n

I displayed the football treats and snacks on my console table with a Metal Trunk<\/strong><\/a> below it.\u00a0 The silver trunk held wooden giant letters that spelled out “SCORE”.\u00a0\u00a0 I also draped an extra jersey on the silver trunk to add a pop of color for our team.\u00a0\u00a0 We put some water bottles (adorned with a printable drink wrapper<\/strong><\/a>) in a galvanized tub<\/strong><\/a> on the ground for people to grab as they grab some snacks.<\/p>\n

The table held some\u00a0Mini Galvanized Tubs<\/strong><\/a> wrapped with cute burlap ribbon and a printable party logo from our collection.\u00a0 They each were filled with artificial wheat grass<\/strong> <\/a>(great investment because we have used this for lots of parties – like our Dinosaur Party<\/strong><\/a>, Angry Birds Party<\/strong><\/a>, and more!)<\/p>\n

We made homemade Football Shaped Macarons and put them on sticks coming out of the grass. They were darling!\u00a0 We were inspired by Mindy Cone of Creative Juice<\/strong> <\/a>and her macaron book is fabulous. Pick up your copy here.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

I wanted this table to not just be about sweets<\/em>, since it was a football party after all! Everyone needs salty snacks, so I used a cool old fashioned candy box with window lids to display my salty snacks.\u00a0 We created a printable label and put on the backs of the container above the chips.\u00a0 I lined the wood box with white tissue so it was sanitary and didn’t ruin my antique.\u00a0 The names for the foods were so fun!\u00a0 We served “Fumble Fritos”, “pocket popcorn”, “turnover tortillas” and “Crunchy Chip Shot”… The guests raved about the display.<\/p>\n

I created a 20×30 printable poster to hang above the table and it added a great focal point to anchor the table. We hung using cotton twine<\/strong><\/a> and also draped a printable pennant banner off center to balance the table. (Printables all available here<\/strong><\/a>)<\/p>\n

We turned a Wood Crate<\/strong><\/a> on its side to add height and display on two levels.\u00a0 On the top we had a football and some water bottles as well as a tissue fringe<\/a><\/strong> pom.\u00a0 On the bottom, we had Kraft paper bakery bags<\/strong><\/a> with a printable “football snack “sack” sticker.\u00a0 (All we did was take our printable design and print on 8.5×11 full sheets of label paper available here<\/strong> <\/a>or at onlinelabels.com<\/strong><\/a>)<\/p>\n

On the left side of the table I used an antique drawer upright and put a football in the bottom compartment and cotton bags with the “Football Snack Sack” iron on.\u00a0 We also had a big glass jug with apple cider (SO fall!).\u00a0 I wrapped it with twine to add some texture to the container.\u00a0 We had a mason jar full of paper straws decorated with our printable party flag.<\/p>\n

I loved making these chocolate almond<\/strong><\/a> footballs that you see in the cute nut cups.\u00a0 The kids and adults devoured them! (See how to make them in a video on our You Tube Channel (link coming soon).<\/p>\n

We also made the most adorable and easy football cupcakes!\u00a0 We asked our local grocery store (Target or Walmart also do cupcakes however you like them!) to make white cupcakes with a patch of dark green grass icing on top. Then we plunked a chocolate almond on top and added a printable cupcake wrapper. SO simple and everyone raved!<\/p>\n

For my tables, I kept it super simple. I lined the tables with kraft paper wrapping paper,<\/strong><\/a> and put a metal handled tray in the center with a chalkboard sign, glass bottle with more cider and I repeated the galvanized tubs with Artificial Wheat Grass<\/strong><\/a> and football macarons. It looked darling and tied it all together.<\/p>\n

For the food, we served Game time Beef Chili, Vegetarian Chili, Victory Veggies, Buffalo Cheese curds, fumble fruit and\u00a0 we served the most delicious sandwiches – Kickin’ Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches<\/a><\/strong>! Yum diggity!<\/p>\n

Overall, it was a huge success! Stay tuned for a couple videos, too!<\/p>\n
