DIY Tutorial: Egg Shaped Candy Buttons<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Did you see our feature on our Easter Has Sprung Collection<\/a> photo shoot yesterday?
\nWe had many comments asking how to make the old fashioned candy buttons.
\nSimple!<\/p>\n

$\"\"$ <\/a>Materials:<\/span>
\n– Copy Paper (Cut into 4″x5″ rectangles or whatever size you prefer)
\n– Printed Egg Stencil Shape (Download yours here<\/a>)
\n– Piping Bag or Kit (I love my Kuhn Rikon Cookie Piping Kit!<\/a> shown below)
\n– Cello Bags (Optional) for packaging
\n– Printable Patterned Papers from our Easter Has Sprung Collection<\/a> (Optional) for packaging.<\/p>\n

$\"\"$ <\/a>Recipe (via Rachel Ray<\/a>)
\nIngredients Needed:<\/span>
\n– 3 Cups Confectioners Sugar
\n– 2 Egg Whites
\n– Food Coloring<\/div>\n

Steps:<\/span>
\n1. Using an electric mixer, beat the confectioners’ sugar and egg whites until thick and smooth, about 5 minutes.<\/p>\n

2. Divide the icing into small bowls
\n(the number of bowls = the number of colors you want to mix).<\/p>\n

3. Mix the colors you want for your candy buttons. I did some mix-ology to create the aqua, chartreuse, etc.<\/p>\n

4. Put your colored icing into piping bags\/containers with simple round icing tips.<\/p>\n

5. Place the Egg template underneath one of your copy paper sheets.<\/p>\n

6. Start piping the shape of the egg with simple dots. Get creative with your color scheme.<\/p>\n

7. Allow to dry overnight.<\/p>\n

8. Package in cello bags and use patterned papers as a pretty topper.<\/p>\n
