<\/em>Dawn, of Not Just A Mommy<\/a>,<\/strong> sent us images of a Super Hero Valentine Party she styled using printables from our Super Hero Valentine’s Day Party Collection<\/a><\/strong>.  Valentine’s is over, but this party is without hearts and love so it’s pretty universal and includes a pretty hot feature, a drip cake<\/strong>. Thanks to the fabulous and extremely colorful creations by self-taught Australian baker Katherine Sabbath<\/a><\/strong>, drip cakes are becoming increasingly popular.  Dawn tried her hands at one and made it the centerpiece of her dessert table.  Check out her great tutorial on how she made her drip cake<\/strong> here on Moms and Munchkins<\/a><\/strong> and see the amazing party photos below!<\/p>\n

Hello everyone! This is Dawn Smith of Not Just A Mommy and I\u2019m excited to be here, sharing my fun and easy superhero take on Valentine\u2019s Day! I only have boys, so superheroes are my life; I love using it as a party theme. If you don\u2019t have the time or energy for a full-blown party, here are a few ideas you can use for a smaller gathering of a few friends or just your own family. I wanted to mix up the standard comic book look with a more modern feel with a few pieces to set the scene with Anders Ruff\u2019s Super Hero Valentines collection. Some of my favorite details from our<\/p>\n

Valentine\u2019s Day table are:

My tablescape was inspired by my table runner from Minted; the geometric shapes play nicely with the lines of our cityscape backdrop. I love this backdrop because it is sturdy and can be reused for future parties. I free handed a skyline of buildings on black foam core sheets, cut out with a sharp blade, and then taped the foam core sheets together to form the backdrop.<\/p>\n

One of my favorite party tips is buying a bakery cake and decorating it yourself! I am currently obsessed with the drippy cake trend and decided to try my hand at it. I topped my well-chilled three-layer chocolate cake with this easy ganache recipe and covered it with all types of fun candies, from chocolate covered gummy bears and marshmallows to rock candy and sprinkles. I finished the look with the cake toppers from the collection, so fun!<\/p>\n

Our bottles are disguised as mild mannered sodas wrapped in cardstock and silly plastic glasses from a local party store.<\/p>\n

I love practical party favors and cookies are my number one go-to. I packaged red velvet Oreos (yum!) in cello bags and topped with 2 \u00bd\u201d circles punched out of the chapstick wrappers from the collection, printed on sticker paper. We can\u2019t forget our plastic handcuffs, a fun idea for both decoration and a take-home for guests, just like our glasses.<\/p>\n

I hope you\u2019re inspired to add a little super to Valentine\u2019s Day this year! It doesn\u2019t take a lot to make a special moment and have a little fun.
