Today starts our first ever Ruff Draft column…. Maureen and I are thrilled to be able to share some of our “behind Anders Ruff scenes” with you.<\/p>\n

Since it’s the first\u00a0article,\u00a0\u00a0we thought\u00a0we would\u00a0start off with a basic pom (so easy, so simple) –\u00a0“Ruff” style.<\/p>\n

As you may already know, we just released a new product line \u2013 Printable Personalized Party <\/strong>Gift\u00a0Packaging<\/strong><\/em><\/a> Accessories<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We wanted to demonstrate, how to make a gift pom\u00a0(shown from\u00a0our previous photos), so you can accessorize any\u00a0package\u00a0with these quick & easy DIY instructions. <\/strong>We love poms for decorating tables, rooms, chandeliers, etc\u2026 and think it is just as much fun to\u00a0enhance a\u00a0package with them.<\/p>\n

We came up with a festive pointed pom variation… so simple, yet makes a bold statement!!!<\/p>\n

Detailed instructions below:\u00a0 {we used 20\u201dx20\u201d sheets}<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0 Layer 5 pieces of tissue paper \u2013 various colors<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0 Fan-fold them together, \u00bd\u201d-3\/4\u201d wide until you reach the end of the paper<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0 Cut fan-fold in half, then cut each half into another half \u2013 giving you (4) 5\u201d long fan-folds<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0 Tie each shortened fan-fold in half with really long string, twine or raffia<\/p>\n

5.\u00a0 Cut each fan-fold end into a dramatic point with scissors, then fan the points apart.<\/p>\n

6. \u00a0Gently pull up first layer of tissue to the center \u00a0(Top Photo)<\/p>\n
7.\u00a0 Gently pull up second layer of tissue to the center (Bottom Left Photo)<\/p>\n
8.\u00a0 Complete both fan-fold halves; back-side should lay flat, with the 3 remaining \u00a0tissue layers fanned out slightly (Bottom Right Photo)<\/p>\n

9.\u00a0 Wrap present \u2013weI like to use scraps of tissue paper, and raffia to the give textures to the present<\/p>\n

Tips:<\/p>\n
We like to buy plain wrapping paper from discount stores in various colors.\u00a0 (My favorite is actually a natural brown \u2013 you can mix this neutral\u00a0color with any tissue paper accents)<\/p>\n
We then use inexpensive tissue paper & raffia to enhance our gifts.\u00a0 Tie on a gift tag, and you are done.\u00a0 It is a very economical way to give a very impressive gift with little time and effort.<\/p>\n
