Trick or Treat!\u00a0 We have some EYE-candy for you today!<\/p>\n

We are THRILLED to share our Haunted Halloween Party Photo Shoot with you today!\u00a0 (Printable graphic collection now available in the shop<\/a>!)<\/p>\n

For this year\u2019s Haunted Halloween printable design collection<\/a>, we wanted to show a spookier side to Anders Ruff! \u00a0We used a mix of antiques (books, cameras, medicine bottles, paper documents from the early 1900s, an old clock & typewriter, shutters and window panes) to give that haunted house feel.<\/p>\n

The backdrop was an olive green silk that had embroidered tree branch looking detail and it was the perfect fabric to give a haunted forest look. \u00a0We tea-stained cheesecloth (DIY) to drape over the table for depth and interest. \u00a0The old columns were the perfect side decor to anchor the table because they reminded us of the columns of an old haunted house.
\nBat sugar cookies (From Firefly Confections<\/a>) were hung from the ceiling as if they were swooping through the air.<\/p>\n

We couldn\u2019t do this shoot without a black cat! \u00a0(Thanks to our local humane society!) The kids dressed up as the classic witch and mummy which we designed these custom costumes.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Since we didn\u2019t want to scare our little goblins away, festive treats such as hanging bat cookies, pumpkin & owl cookies, mummy-mallows (mummy-head marshmallows), boo-meringues (meringue ghosts), white chocolate drizzled caramel apples, chocolate skeleton keys were displayed. \u00a0These treats gave a kid-friendly feel to the setup while still showing unique ideas for desserts.<\/p>\n

\nOur focal point of the main dessert table was an antique typewriter where we displayed pumpkin and owl cookies, plus witch\u2019s spells from our printable collection.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Printable pennants embellished with some graphic mock-Polaroids (also included in the printable collection!) looked amazing on the front of the dessert buffet!<\/p>\n

\nWe used accents of old-school cameras to accessorize the table and flowed well when it was mixed in with the haunted house photography\/banner (in the printable package).<\/p>\n

The chocolate skeleton keys were the perfect touch!\u00a0 I made these and LOVED the way they turned out!\u00a0 Use these chocolate molds<\/a> to make your own chocolate skeleton keys!<\/p>\n

<\/a>Look at the fabulous sugar cookies from Firefly Confections….<\/p>\n

<\/a>The costumes were made by Morgan of \u201cMade by Morgan\u201d.<\/p>\n

\nOld medicine bottles wrapped in our graphic designs were used to display the Mummy-mallows and Boo-meringues (which I made the night before!)<\/p>\n

\nWe made inverted book displays (DIY) out of old beat up books and used varying sizes to add height and dimension. \u00a0A vintage ammo box was used to hold caramel apples and an antique door knob was set up to hold the chocolate skeleton keys (DIY – we will be showing how to make these on our new website soon www.andersruff.com). \u00a0We made these chocolate skeleton keys from key molds and also our printable key template that is included in the printable collection. \u00a0We also made the caramel apples (DIY) and drizzled white chocolate horizontally to carry through the same \u201clook\u201d as the wrapped mummy treats (and model!).<\/p>\n

I loved making these Mummy-Mallows…. Super easy! (Ruff Draft coming soon!)<\/p>\n

\nWe wanted to show a more eclectic way to serve cupcakes so Got What It Cakes layered the cupcakes in mason jars topped off with chocolate spider webs.<\/p>\n

<\/a>A side bar was perfect to display our bat-juice (apple cider) and other small treats.
\nWe used hues of burnt orange, olive greens and natural creams & browns.
\nOur printable graphics included modern polka-dots, skeleton stripes, vintage bead-board stripes, and classic tweed patterns. \u00a0We used some Harry Potter inspirations for witch spells and potions. \u00a0We also included real haunted house photography for our main banner.<\/p>\n

We used old shutters and a window pane for our backdrop – a simple prop that gives a bold statement.
\nMore antique books, cameras and medicine bottles were displayed to hold our treats. \u00a0We added some Spanish moss for another spooky element.<\/p>\n

We created a square Trick or Treat banner to offset the scene.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Our drink tray was wrapped with old paper documents (DIY). \u00a0This was so easy to do and gave one of our modern trays a new look.
\nThe bat juice (cider) you see is in mini canning jars with an old fashioned candy stick straw.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Popcorn cones (made out of our printable patterned papers and embellished with a printable party logo) were filled with fresh popcorn and strung along the table with mini-clothes pins, so the kids could easily take them off to eat. \u00a0We piped chocolate cobwebs (DIY) to add to the tops of some of the popcorn cones as well.<\/p>\n

Mini-candy-bar wrappers embellished the tiny chocolates.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

<\/a>We displayed a wooden box filled with candies that were packaged in cellophane bags and sealed shut with our printable bag toppers.
\nThe kids loved passing this around – and what a great way to pass out your trick or treat candies!<\/a><\/p>\n

<\/a>The kids enjoyed classic Halloween Party game of bobbing for apples.<\/p>\n

<\/a>My little Pierson (I mean, mummy) really enjoyed bobbing for apples!<\/a>
