It’s October and the\u00a0fall weather is\u00a0finally starting to change, down here in the south.\u00a0 What does that mean??? IT’S CHILI TIME!<\/p>\n

I thought, why not create a football printable to go along with my famous home-style chili… and what goes best with chili??? FOOTBALL!!!<\/p>\n

In my house, we are Ohio State Buckeyes fans, and Auburn Tigers fans…. kind of random, I know.\u00a0 Being that we cheer for multiple teams, I figured I should design a football party logo\/party flags, that could be used for ALL football fans.<\/p>\n

Now for the CHILI…..<\/p>\n

Keep in mind – this recipe is my creation…. I do everything by taste, but I did try to throw in some measurements, for those who don’t like to “eyeball it”<\/p>\n

Are you ready for Adria’s Smokin’ Chili????<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Time:\u00a0 approx 1 hr… (but I simmer my chili all day)<\/p>\n

Ingredients:\u00a0\u00a0 (I know it seems like a lot – but trust me, it’s worth it) \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

2 lbs. ground beef<\/p>\n

1 carrot, 1 celery stalk (chopped)<\/p>\n

1 green pepper (chopped)<\/p>\n

1 red pepper (chopped)<\/p>\n

Haberno pepper (optional, chopped)<\/p>\n

2-4 fresh tomatoes \u2013 (seeds eliminated and chopped)<\/p>\n

28 oz. can of crushed tomatos (Contadina is what I use) \u2013 2 cans<\/p>\n

15.25 oz. of black beans \u2013 2 cans<\/p>\n

4 crushed garlic cloves (or finely chopped)<\/p>\n

Fresh cilantro\u00a0 (about 1 \u2013 2 tbles chopped)<\/p>\n

1 tble Worchestershire sauce<\/p>\n

3 tbls of dark chili powder (add more or less to taste)<\/p>\n

1 to 2 teaspoons of cumin (add more or less to taste)<\/p>\n

2 tbls dehydrated onions (instant onions) – I don’t eat real onions, so I substitute<\/p>\n

1 pinch of cinnamon<\/p>\n

Salt\/pepper<\/p>\n

2 tbls sugar<\/p>\n

A couple shakes of crushed red pepper<\/p>\n

Olive oil (approx. two tablespoons)<\/p>\n

In a food processor, chop up the following items<\/p>\n

celery stalk<\/p>\n

1 large carrot<\/p>\n

1 green pepper<\/p>\n

1 red pepper<\/p>\n

1 habanero pepper (optional)<\/p>\n

On low heat, saut\u00e9 olive oil (swirl it into the pan, approx. 1 tablespoon\u2026doesn\u2019t have to be a lot, just enough to saut\u00e9) with 2 cloves of fresh garlic (crushed), a couple shakes of red pepper flakes, 1 tble of instant onions<\/p>\n

Add to pan, chopped veggies from food processor and turn up to med heat\u2026\u00a0 (you may want to swirl in a little more olive oil to keep it moist)<\/p>\n

Add a few dashes of salt\/pepper<\/p>\n

saut\u00e9 for about 15 min or until tender<\/p>\n

Once tender, put into a separate bowl.<\/p>\n

Add a swirl of olive oil to same pot (approx. 1 tble), add in the other 2 crushed garlic cloves.\u00a0 Saut\u00e9 for a couple mins, add 2 lbs. of ground beef, and cook until browned all the way through.\u00a0\u00a0 (you can add more salt\/pepper), and stir frequently.<\/p>\n

Drain ground beef.<\/p>\n

In your pot, add in the following items:<\/p>\n

28 oz. can of crushed tomatoes (Contadina is what I use) \u2013 2 cans<\/p>\n

2-4 fresh tomatoes \u2013 (seeds eliminated and chopped)<\/p>\n

Saut\u00e9ed veggie mix<\/p>\n

Browned beef<\/p>\n

15.25 oz. of black beans \u2013 2 cans (I drain them, but do not rinse \u2013 the gooey liquid in the can, thickens your chili)<\/p>\n

Stir, and cook on low to medium heat<\/p>\n

Last, add in your remaining seasonings:<\/p>\n

3 tbls of dark chili powder (add more or less to taste)<\/p>\n

1 to 2 teaspoons of cumin (add more or less to taste)<\/p>\n

Fresh cilantro (about 1 \u2013 2 tbls chopped \u2013 add more or less to taste)<\/p>\n

1 tble Worcestershire sauce<\/p>\n

1 tble dehydrated onions – (add more or less to taste)<\/p>\n

2 tbls Sugar<\/p>\n

A couple shakes of crushed red pepper (optional – depends on the heat intensity that you like)<\/p>\n

1 pinch of cinnamon<\/p>\n

Salt\/pepper (to taste)<\/p>\n

Simmer and serve (I simmer my chili for several hours on very low heat\u2026 but technically, you can eat it right away)<\/p>\n

Want\u00a0 a fun way to show off your chili????<\/p>\n

Put it in a glass mug, and serve it with mini-corn muffins….<\/p>\n

(I like to layer my chili with sour cream, and cheese on top)!<\/p>\n
