A little birdie reminded us that Dr. Seuss’ birthday is just around the corner…. March 2nd is his official birthday.\u00a0 With St. Patty’s Day coming up as well, we thought it would be fun to put together some Dr. Seuss snacks that would be great for:\u00a0 Dr. Seuss’ Birthday (March 2nd), St. Patty’s Day (March 17th),\u00a0After-school snacks or even a Breakfast Birthday Celebration!<\/p>\n

We also wanted to offer a FREE PRINTABLE \u00a0andersruff-try them try them in honor of Dr. Seuss’ Birthday!!!\u00a0 It’s one of my favorite quotes from Green Eggs & Ham<\/em><\/strong>:<\/p>\n

“You do not like them, so you say?\u00a0 Try them! Try them! And you may.”\u00a0\u00a0 (I used to refer to\u00a0that book, when I needed to convince my kids to eat something they thought<\/em> they didn’t like)<\/p>\n

Stick these party logos on any new food, and I bet your kids will try it!!! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Supplies needed:<\/p>\n

Paper plates, napkins & cups<\/p>\n

Craft Punch\/Scissors\/Tape<\/p>\n

Ingredients for Snacks:<\/p>\n

hard boiled eggs – shells removed<\/p>\n

ham – cut into circles<\/p>\n

small tomatoes – I used campari size\u00a0tomatoes<\/p>\n

fresh mozzarella cheese log – one large circle, several small circles to\u00a0match size of small tomato<\/p>\n

orange slices<\/p>\n

apple slices<\/p>\n

star fruit (it has an odd taste – you could always use a star cookie cutter and cut out some other fruit for the “starfish”)<\/p>\n

swedish fish<\/p>\n

So basically, I made three edible stacks from 3 of my favorite Dr. Seuss books!<\/p>\n

First, I\u00a0 lined my paper plate with the patterned paper from our Dr. Seuss Inspired Birthday Collection – such a simple touch that makes a bold statement!<\/p>\n

Then, onto the Stacks!!!<\/p>\n

Green Eggs & Ham<\/strong><\/em> Stack<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

Directions:<\/p>\n

Using a large bowl, mix green food coloring and water – I used the green gel in the baking section… I put about a 1\/4 teaspoon of it in the water<\/p>\n

Add the hard boiled eggs and mix them around in the colored water until you desired coloring<\/p>\n

Cut your ham into various circles – I used\u00a0\u00a0cookie cutters<\/p>\n

Add your pieces of ham to green colored water and\u00a0 remove once you have desired coloring<\/p>\n

Place hard boiled egg on ham stacks, and use a wooden skewer to hold together<\/p>\n

Add pre-cut & printed party logo<\/p>\n

Cat in the Hat<\/strong><\/em> Tomato & Cheese Stack<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

Directions:<\/p>\n

Cut one large piece of mozzarella cheese (width of cheese log)<\/p>\n

Cut capari sized tomatoes<\/p>\n

Cut (with circular cookie cutter) mozzarella cheese to match tomato size<\/p>\n

Layer cheese and tomato to create the “hat”<\/p>\n

Use\u00a0wooden skewer to hold together<\/p>\n

Add pre-cut & printed party logo<\/p>\n

***For\u00a0a caprese salad version, add balsamic vinegar with olive oil, fresh basil, salt & pepper\u00a0and garlic salt to the tomatoes before assembling stack<\/p>\n

One Fish Two Fish, RED FISH, Blue Fish<\/strong><\/em> Stack<\/p>\n

Directions:<\/p>\n

Slice orange, apple, and star fruit<\/p>\n

Layer and add a Swedish fish to the top of “starfish”<\/p>\n

Use wooden skewer to hold together<\/p>\n

Add pre-cut & printed party logo<\/p>\n

For the final\u00a0embellishments, use the patterned paper as a napkin wrap and use the party logo for a cup detail!<\/p>\n
