Valentine’s Day is so much fun for both old and young alike.  When my daughter’s teacher messaged me to see if I’d like to help host a Valentine’s Day party for her class, I was so excited!  I knew immediately that I would love to use the I Heart Valentine’s Day collection from Anders Ruff   as the basis for my party styling.  I hope you enjoy the bright pops of pink paired with red throughout the party decorations, themed Valentine’s Day treats and party favors captured by Crystal Coatney Photography.

Because there is limited space in a classroom, we wanted to test out our party at home first.  We set up a bright fabric backdrop using our easy-to-make PVC pipe stand (tutorial here).  We used clearance tapestry fabric from JoAnn Fabrics and attached an inexpensive felt LOVE banner from Target.  Our tabletop was covered with our favorite white ruffled tablecloth from Candy Crush Events and topped off with a double layered pink and red fabric runner. Using varying sizes of stacking hat boxes from Nashville Wraps we set the “skeleton” in place for adding layers and height to our table.  We pulled out our favorite red (Target), white  and pink cake stands (Smash Cake and Co.)  to tie the Valentine’s Day colors into our treat display.  Using candy from Oriental Trading Company , apothecary jars in all sorts of fun shapes and sizes were filled with red foil covered lip shaped chocolates, striped candy sticks, gumballs and suckers. Ribbons were added along with some of the sweet printables from the I Heart Valentine’s Day collection.  

 

 

Platters were lined with beautifully decorated sugar cookies by Laura Megs Sweets and hand dipped chocolate Oreos with darling chocolate accents made by Bella’s Bakery & Bowtique. Can you even stand how cute the details on those cookies are?  They were gobbled up so quickly at the school party!

The centerpiece of our table, which the kids loved, was a beautiful two tiered cake by the talented 4 Kids Cakes.  Isn’t the red ruffle heart to die for? And the heart on top?  Completely edible, made from molded chocolate!

In addition, we added printable cupcake toppers to rosettes and embellished store bought cupcakes.  Aren’t the heart straws a fun way to add the cupcake toppers to the cupcakes?  We finished dressing up our cupcakes with heart baking cups from Hoopla Events. 

To tie in the LOVE theme, ceramic letter dishes, also from Hoopla Events were filled with colorful gumballs and made a cute statement at the front of our table.  Heart Balloons from Oriental Trading Company were filled from home with Balloon Time Helium tanks.  A beautiful tissue tassel garland (OTC) was added to the front of the table to complete the look.

 Because we wanted my daughter and her friend to be able to sample some of the party fare, we set up a sweet dining table where they could sit, chat and eat. For the centerpiece of the table I stacked hat boxes (Nashville Wraps), and embellished them with ribbon, printables from Anders Ruff and a cute mini bunting I made from twine, paper straws and printable patterned paper. Delicious red velvet donuts from Green Mountain Mini Baked were stacked to form an enticing display.  Cake pops by Vypassetti Cake Pops filled gold mason jars.

Place settings were created by layering gold chargers with red and white striped paper plates from Hoopla Events and patterned dessert plates from Oriental Trading Company. We decked out strawberry Crush bottles in printable Valentine’s Day labels from the AR collection and added a printable flag to pink paper straws. Themed cups from OTC were stuffed with festive red and white striped paper napkins from Hoopla Events.  Favor boxes (OTC), were filled with treats, Valentine’s Day themed games and red paracord bracelets (which the kids loved and were so eager to wear). Each favor box was made even sweeter with “happy Valentine’s Day” tags tied with twine and cute labels.

The girls loved testing out everything for their class party, and especially adored twirling in their new adorable custom designed Valentine skirts and shirts from GreatStitch.com and sparkly necklace and bracelet sets from W(e)il’d Hair & Accessories.  They had fun striking a pose in  their new heart sunglasses from The TomKat Studio too!  I’m not sure anything beats a Valentine’s Day party!
