Chic’s Beach 4th of July Fireworks Fundraiser

Chic’s Beach is a small Virginia Beach community located on the Chesapeake Bay and about as All American as a slice of Grannie’s home made apple pie!  A place where golf carts tote residence to the beach and restaurants have spots to scrape the sand off your feet.  In case you aren’t dreamy eyed enough, in 2012 a civic league raised money to put on a phenomenal fireworks show that could be seen from them beach with the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel as the backdrop. Breathtaking vision!  This year the civic league hosted a silent auction to raise money again for the fireworks show and our client Carrie Lauck, The Happy Hour Hostess, contributed a  “Party in a Box” using our Nautical 4th of July collection to be auctioned off. Carrie tells us the amazing details that were part of the 4th of July “Party in a Box.”

Party Details:  It was a fun party to plan, and easy as pie once I realized that the always amazing, Anders Ruff had already designed the perfect printables collection for the occasion! So I printed, cut and pasted The Nautical 4th of July collection to everything I could find and used their vintage + nautical style to lead me the rest of the way.

My favorite addition was the light blue vintage Bell mason jars that I tied with the printable tags as favor containers for the party host to fill with their favorite items. The jars are stunning and apparently only out for a limited time (according to the packaging at least!) – I found mine at Target. After that we obviously needed a giant party bucket (Marshalls), picnic blanket, utensils bucket, badminton set (all from Target), hot dog baskets and condiment containers (from Kroger) added some ribbon and accessories (Michaels) and, viola!, we have ourselves the beginning of a terrific celebration!

The July 4th Banner and nautical bunting will look terrific strung on a beach tent or off a deck at a pre-party and I added some tissue paper sparklers and nautical ribbon to a giant 36” balloon so that this beach bash will be easy to find among the crowd. The sweetest touch to the package was a pre-order of 1 dozen custom 4th of July cookies from Virginia Beach’s best bakery, Bliss Bakery, which will be ready for pick up on July 3rd.

As for me, party planning is a true passion but I am also a Navy wife, living in a Navy town and my own hubby/hero is home this year for the first 4th of July in 3 years (yippee!)   We will be celebrating our independence as a family, with a neighborhood bike parade, as guests at a terrific Homecoming party for a fellow Navy Officer and wrapping it up with those same friends, flags and glow sticks watching the fireworks fall as the moon rises.  Seems to this party planner like the perfect way to celebrate proud national holiday!
