If you have ever been a child (and I know you have been) I am 99% sure that you went through a cowboy or cowgirl phase that included a hat and a pair of boots that didn’t leave your body be it bedtime or bath time! With reenactments of gunfights and gingham dresses that bellow ever so perfectly while riding bare back on imaginary horses, western living is a right of passage and a life style glorified by almost every children at some point. Cristina and Maggie, owners of Via Blossom, made that dream a reality for Cristina’s son, Daniel, at his Country Farm Birthday Celebration. From the rustic charm of the dessert table to the vintage western carriage, this was a party that definitely satisfied fantasies of both the gunfighters and bare back riders! Below, Cristina and Maggie, from Via Blossom, give us the details of this real life country birthday party on the farm.
Décor: The Party was held at a beautiful farm were the children enjoyed pony rides, petting the animals and a fun hayride. I kept the décor very rustic by using natural props like Mini Hay bales, wood slices as cupcake stands, berry baskets, metal buckets and a red checker tablecloth over Burlap fabric. A wooden red barn and a vintage red tractor were the focal point of the table.
Three red and blue Giant Balloons added a pop of color to the green nature backdrop. I use Anders Ruff’s Vintage Tractor printables throughout the party, to decorate the cupcakes, milk bottles and metal buckets. The hayride tractor looked so welcoming with the “Happy Birthday” banner.
Food: The children enjoyed grilled hot dogs and lemonade. The sweet treats included double chocolate cupcakes, vanilla caramel cupcakes and red velvet cupcakes. I also served delicious berries in pretty wooden berry baskets.
Favors: Our Little guests went home with vintage Chevy Truck favor boxes filled with old fashion candy and toys.
