We are currently obsessed with all things Wizardly here at our house. My son has read almost all the Harry Potter books and wanted a Harry Potter themed birthday party. I remembered my amazing friend and party stylist, Jen Carver of Banner Events wizard party from a couple years ago.

First task was to contact Anders Ruff about their fabulous customizable Magic Wizard Party Printables. Can you believe how perfect the ticket invitations are? Anders Ruff certainly doesn’t disappoint. Their attention to detail helped inspire this novice party thrower. My talented friend, Brianna Siddoway of Brianna Siddoway Photography was able to capture all the magical moments.

We printed the invitations on a vintage linen paper to give it a more authentic feel. Parents and kids alike commented on how much they loved these invites. If you are thinking about your next birthday party, professional party printables, help set the theme and get the guests excited about the party. My son really wanted to dress up in his Harry Potter costume to deliver the invitations. I was happy we were able to use his cloak and tie, designed by SookEe Designs again. We even took his baby sister dressed as Hedwig.

On the day of the party, guests loved arriving at Platform 9 ¾. Which is the only way to catch the train to Hogwarts. I paired it with a homemade brick wall. The kids loved running through the wall and it was so easy to create. I used a large paper roll, a sponge and acrylic paint.

Bronson was most looking forward to visiting Ollivander’s Wand Shop. Which as every Wizard knows is the best place to “have a wand pick them”. My husband purchased dowels from the local hardware store and had them cut into various sizes. He then used a lathe to create unique designs in each wand. We really love how they turned out and the kids were thrilled to take home their own wand.

After visiting Ollivander’s it was off to Hogwarts to be sorted. Each student had the sorting hat placed on their head so they could be sorted into the correct house. Bronson, of course, was placed in Gryffindor.

Classes began right after the sorting ceremony. First class, Defense Against the Dark Arts. Here students were taught basic spells to get a feel for their wand. Then each house was given the task to create a unique spell. They presented the spell to the other houses and then the duels began. House points were awarded to the winning team.

After a grueling workout dueling one another, the kids made their way to Hogsmeade for butter beer. I found a recipe online here. It’s pretty easy to make. It was the perfect drink to warm the kids up on such a cold day.

Finally the kids made their way to Honeydukes. It was the best spot to wish Happy Birthday to Bronson. We had delicious house cookies made by Jilly B Creations. I have been amazed at her talent and tasty cookies. Her cookies look beautiful and taste even better. Homemade Chocolate Cupcakes were wrapped with the Party Printables from Anders Ruff.

I used the Magic Wizard Candy Shop Printables from Anders Ruff to label all the sweet treats. It really was the perfect ending to a magical party.
