Curious George captured the heart of little Blake making it the perfect theme for his second birthday party.   Banana candies, yellow hats, and a lemonade stand are just a few of the things that made this a party we couldn’t resist sharing.  Styled by his Mom, Charlene from Party Envy, the party took place in a park in Simi Valley, CA.  Often times hosting an outdoor event can pose some challenges, but Charlene didn’t seem to let any of them stop her from throwing a bright and colorful Curious George themed party!

What could be better for a monkey themed party than a banana filled gumball machine.  Charlene used a lot of the banana candies throughout her event not only in the gumball machine, but also as a platter filler under her candy filled ice cream cones and as jar fillers that were spread on the tables.  Who doesn’t love edible themed decorations!!

She also creatively decorated the table with yellow paper cups flipped upside down on yellow paper plates and then wrapped black electrical tape around the cups…instant yellow hats that were also super useful.  With all the yummy desserts that were spread throughout the party I’m sure the plates could have been at least twice as big!

Some other elements of the party that were as irresistibly cute as the birthday boy himself were a lemonade stand and a monkey pinata.  Charlene didn’t miss the opportunity in any aspect of the party to liven up the feel with  the color palette of reds and yellow and touches of blue. The balloons, paper lanterns, table cloths, food, and table set up all followed along with the colors that any curious monkey and 2 year old boy would love.
