It’s a Black and White Party that screams sophistication and class and was styled by no other than our classy Australian friend, Yolanda, of Kiss With Style. With a similar look to the Chanel/Sex in the City Inspired Party she styled, this one just has that Audrey Hepburn edge to it. Yolanda combines two starkly opposite colors and is able to create a soft look by using soft round edges on all her foods jars and containers, as well as added touches of crystals, pearls, and fabric flowers. She asked us to create a few designs for the events so with a simple black backing, white writing, and a crystal chandelier graphic they helped carry out the theme perfectly!
Some things we love about this Black and White Party:
– Adding lighting with paper lanterns hanging from the ceiling
– Edible Pearls draped on the bottom tier of the cake
– Beautiful hanging crystal candelabras
– Candy buffet apothecary jars draped with fabric flower embellishments and strands of pearls
Other fabulous parties that celebrate a milestone birthday:
– Foxy and 40 in NYC
– Glittery Glam 40th Birthday Party
– Hot Pink Glamorous Casino 40th Birthday Party
– Chanel/Sex in the City Inspired Party
– Nick’s 50th Lap Celebration
– Glam and Gold 21st Birthday with Studs and Skeletons
I love the assortment of buffet candy jars and slanted opening apothecary bowls. It helps to make the color scheme softer and takes away the stark contrast of the two colors. Adding black fabric flower embellishment and and pearl necklace strands just adds that extra touch of elegance and sophistication.
Creating your own stunning dessert table for a black and white party can be simple by just putting some fondant white toppers on your cupcakes or cookies or adding edible pearls and sugar crystals to them. Then serve them on a variety of platters or cake stands with elegant curves and designs.
If your goal for your event is to have a sophisticated feel and look you can apply and of the ideas from this gorgeous party that Yolanda has shared with us. It’s all about the curves, consistency of color, and variety of elegant pieces. And of course an amazing eye for design like Yolandas always helps too!
