A Sweet Cookies & Milk Baby Shower

Hello, Anders Ruff friends.  Jen Carver (Banner Events) here, and I am happy to share the details of this sweet cookies & milk baby shower my talented friend Vivian Kerr and I co-hosted for our beautiful friend Rochelle.  While some may think throwing a baby shower for a 5th baby isn’t necessary, we don’t agree. We couldn’t possibly pass up the opportunity to celebrate the sweet baby-to-be or her amazing mom! (Besides, have you seen all of the cute baby girl clothes out in stores now?  Our friend’s last baby girl was born 10 years ago. Baby fashion has definitely improved since then!) We did keep the celebration streamlined so more emphasis could be on mingling and visiting. We kept decorations and refreshments simple and repurposed props and display items we already had on hand.  We added that custom, boutique feel by utilizing adorable themed printables from the Anders Ruff Vintage Milk and Cookies Printable Collection.

Some of my favorite details from this Sweet Cookies & Milk Baby Shower are:

– Custom milk bottle cookies from Auntie Beas Bakery.
– Coordinating milk carton favors filled with milk chocolate Hershey Kisses.
– Rustic style crates, milk bottles & tin planters and milk cans.
– Printable cookies & milk signage and party décor.
– Custom printable candy bar favor wrappers.

A cookies & milk baby shower is such a fun way to celebrate!  We sent out darling invitations from Anders Ruff, which included custom return address labels and “deliver to” labels.  The pink and brown color scheme of the invitations, along with the rustic style cookies and milk theme, set the tone for the entire party.

A cookies and milk baby shower lends itself to some fun decorations! We set up a main dessert table with a prominent welcome sign.  Anders Ruff customized it to coordinate with the invitation design.  Pink and brown polka dot balloons (Oriental Trading Co.), a ruffle table cloth (Candy Crush Events) and a hand-ripped fabric bunting, tied the party colors together. To display the desserts, we used rustic props and decor.  Some of our favorite items were: wooden crates, galvanized dessert stands, milk cans and planters.  We also displayed treats on wood rounds, in baskets and lidded jars from IKEA.

In the main visiting room, the fireplace mantle was sweetened up with a printable banner spelling “baby”.  We added DIYed rosettes to the back of each letter for some impact.  Tall apothecary jars were filled with color coordinating taffy from Oriental Trading Co.  Stacked hat boxes from Nashville Wraps were transformed into a faux cake.

Of course, a cookies and milk baby shower calls for plenty of cookies and milk for snacking! There were delicious sugar cookies by Auntie Beas Bakery made in the shape of milk bottles, baby onesies and other shapes.  They were decorated perfectly to coordinate with Anders Ruff’s printable party décor. We had a wonderful group of friends that whipped up their favorite recipes for the celebration too. There were:  fruit pizza cookies, mini Oreo & cherry cheesecakes, lemon raspberry bars, Andes Mint cookies, Snickerdoodles, Chocolate Chip cookies, Whoopie Pies, Swig sugar cookies (regular and lemon), caramel apple cookies, milk chocolate brownie bites, Oreo truffles, and cupcakes with a homemade cookie dough frosting!  The cupcakes were dressed for the occasion in cute brown and white cupcake liners from Hoopla Events. I’m salivating just typing out the cookie menu again!  We added theme coordinating folding labels and oval jar labels for easy cookie identification! (You can find these labels in the Anders Ruff’s collection.)  There were plenty of cute color coordinating plates, cups and utensils for filling and refilling plates (Oriental Trading Company). We included glassine favor bags, embellished with printable party circles, so guests could each take home samples of their favorite cookies.

Our beverage station included two beverage dispensers, with white and chocolate milk.  Guests were invited to sip their drink of choice from cute vintage milk bottles from Red Hill General Store. Each bottle was made over for the party.  Wrapped in a custom cookies & milk baby shower label, each bottle was outfitted with a striped paper straw (Oriental Trading & Hoopla Events) and cute coordinating flag topper.

Because everyone loves a great party favor, we had a few fun options on hand.  In addition to taking home cookies, guests could also  take home a custom wrapped milk chocolate bar or a darling personalized milk carton favor box filled with Hershey Kisses.  We just love all of the fun details Anders Ruff added to make them coordinate with the cookies & milk baby shower theme!
