October 25th proved to be a day of celebration for Knoxville, Tennessee DIYers! AR Workshop Knoxville marked its official opening with a grand opening party, and the public was invited! Didn’t make the party? No worries! You can come inside (virtually) this DIYer’s paradise as we introduce you to the proud new owner, Amy Thomas, and the awesome AR Workshop concept! If you aren’t familiar with AR Workshop, simply put, it is a boutique style workshop that offers hands-on classes teaching attendees how to make their own on-trend home décor. You can make everything from personalized pillow covers, to incredible wood wall art, to custom picture frames and centerpieces, to chunky knit blankets, and a whole lot more! You start with all the raw materials needed for a successful experience and beautiful end-project and also get plenty of aid from knowledgeable class instructors. Each AR Workshop location can be rented out for private parties such as a birthday, bridal shower, baby shower, engagement party, big group date night, corporate team building, and so forth. Not to mention, AR Workshop is a fabulous retail shop for buying beautiful gifts such as readymade home décor, jewelry, candles, and a carefully curated selection of local merchandise.

AR Workshop Knoxville owner Amy didn’t start out in the home décor making business. An education major, she attended the University of Tennessee and completed her library science work at the University of Georgia. Amy grew up in a creative home. With a craftsman father and a mother who paints, it makes sense that Amy has always loved being creative. She also enjoys spending time outside, especially in our beautiful national parks. Amy started a small business on her driveway and began creating wood frames and signs which led to complete home renovation projects in Maryville. Now retired from teaching, she is so excited to bring the Boutique DIY experience to the greater Knoxville area.
