I know this par-tee writeup is going to be a hole in one! We have had lots of requests for golf party ideas. You are in luck!
Rebecca, a client of ours, planning the most precious preppy golf party for her son. Rebecca reached out to us at the beginning of the year to design printables for the golf party. After she showed me her colors, I was in! Who doesn’t love aqua and lime green together!?
Here is the invitation that we designed for Rebecca. What a great way to set the tone for her fabulous par-tee! I adore the personalized golf balls and tees!
See below for the eye candy followed by fabulous detail in Rebecca’s words…
Looks like it was a GORGEOUS day.
The dessert table is so preppy-fabulous! I love the turf backdrop!
Personalized balls and tees! What a great favor!
Could the desserts get any cuter? Doubtful!
We designed some printable flags for the cupcakes…. those cupcakes turned out SO cute!
I am a “modern” girl (and preppy!) and I Adore the prints and colors she used on the table fabric. Don’t you adore the golf set favors that the kids got? They match perfectly, too! She attached a favor hang tag and the kids were set!
I love how the cake picks up the argyle pattern from the printables – adorable!
Declan is so cute! What a little pro!
I love how the kids are all wearing little visors and match so well!
Rebecca – these photos are just precious! Thank you for sharing (and doing such a great job styling with our printables!)
PARTY DETAILS, as told by Rebecca…
::
Inspiration:
“My husband and I both have a love for golf and have been taking our son Declan to our friends’ driving range since before he could walk. At first, he loved to pick up the balls and drop them in the holes on the putting green. He soon developed a love for the game, including watching The Masters on TV with Dad, so a golf theme was a perfect fit for his third birthday.
Printables:
I contacted Maureen from Anders Ruff not too long after her amazing SuperHero theme party was featured on the HWTM Blog. I loved her style and was excited to work with her. She took my ideas and love of argyle and created a wonderfully fun golf theme for Declan.
Party Set Up:
I wanted Declan’s cake to be the focal point of the dessert table. Interestingly, this particular three-year-old only asked for cake for his birthday. I met with Annie from Cake Couture and she did an amazing job with the theme. The little figurine on top with the bow tie was perfect, and she created him from a photo we had sent her.
I had cupcakes made with grass and golf balls on them that I topped off with a mini golf flag using Maureen’s printables with the number three to represent his third birthday. The cake and cupcake stands were created using floral foam blocks wrapped in green tissue paper. I then covered the bottom of them in green garland that was purchased from Shop Sweet Lulu.
I covered boxes in the argyle pattern paper, filled them with golf tees and put our golf candy kabobs inside which I ordered from Sweets Indeed. These were a big hit with the kids.
I placed green apple flavored jellybeans in the long candy tubes purchased from Shop Sweet Lulu and placed them inside two small golf ball buckets from the driving range. Annie was able to create custom cookies using the logos created by Maureen for all the kids to take home.
I made my backdrop out of a large piece of foam board (purchased at my local hardware store) and wrapped it with a piece of turf grass carpet. I then secured the ‘Happy Birthday Banner’ with white golf tees.
Beside the table, with the assistance of my great carpentry friend, I made golf flag and placed them in the ground. Maureen customized these for me as well and they turned out perfectly. We now have one in Declan’s room!
The kids tables were covered in a plastic polka dot table cloth matching the theme that I found on sale at Michael’s. I secured green scrapbooking paper on top to use as a placemat and added the plates and napkins.
The large golf balls were actually piggy banks and worked great for the kids tables. I found these at my local grocery store.I really wanted to incorporate pictures of Declan playing at the driving range into the party, so I purchased white double-sided frames from IKEA, and put black and white images of him playing golf since he was little.
Each child received a set of plastic clubs and a green visor, which I placed on each chair. I then tied our ‘Thanks for playing a round with Declan’ printable to each golf set. Declan helped hand out the clubs to all the kids as we got ready to play some golf.
We had a full BBQ with ‘Birdie Burgers’, ‘Dog Leg Dogs’ (hot dogs), ‘Mickelson Melon’ (watermelon, named after my favorite golfer Phil), ‘Chips’, and ‘Iced TEE’. Our water bottles had labels on them that said ‘Water Hazard’ and to incorporate my husband’s two favorite Majors, we had ‘British Open Veggies and Dip’, and ‘The Masters Fruit Cones.’ Unfortunately, it was a very windy day and all our labels for our food table blew away before the party started!
I recently organized a golf tournament for my work, and at the course I found a mini version of the PING golf bag that matched my husbands. This was a must have because it looked adorable placed next to my husband’s bag. Declan was so excited to have his own. I placed these by another golf flag and a mini golf cart that was a gift for him from my mom.
I found a golf glove in Declan’s size at GolfTown which he was over the moon excited for, He wore it most of the day with his orange plaid outfit that was from ‘FORE’ by Axel & Hudson. They design golf themed inspired clothes just for boys.
Games:
All the grown ups and kids that wanted to hit the range were all given tokens for a bucket of balls. Once all the kids were given their own golf sets, they took to the putting green right away and had a blast. It was so cute to see 15 plus kids all golfing at once.
We had a race to see who could carry a golf ball the fastest to the end of the green and back on a spoon. We also had a great time catching bubbles; who doesn’t love bubbles!?
I have to say the highlight of the day was the mini golf cart. We tied a couple of 36″ green balloons to it and all the kids took a turn driving around the driving range.
After cake, gifts, and more golfing, everyone received a Callaway golf ball customized with ‘Declan’s PAR-TEE’. It was a fantastic day and everyone had a great time!”
