Hi Anders Ruff fans. It’s Jen Carver of Banner Events here to share an amazing party my friend, Krista O’Byrne of Hoopla Events styled for her daughter! Hues of hot pink and black and white stripes combined with clean, modern lines & darling flamingo details made this pink flamingo birthday party an incredibly fun soiree to style in celebration of her daughter, Kennedy’s 4th birthday. (Be sure to check out the Anders Ruff Pink Flamingo Inspiration board here for more fun ideas!)
A few of my favorite elements from the pink flamingo party are:
– The adorable and huge flower bouquets on the tables and dessert table
– The lettered candy bowls that spell out Kennedy
– The large pink and white polka dotted balloons on the favor table
– The large black frames on the dessert table

After purchasing a flamingo tank top for her last year, she matter-of-factly announced one day that she wanted a flamingo party for her next birthday. It’s always fun styling an event around a child-chosen theme, and the invitation, party decorations, cake, cookies and favors were all designed with flamingoes in mind. I hope you enjoy the precious details beautifully captured by Aspin Photography.
Designed from scratch for this event, the adorable invitations and coordinating printable collection by Anders Ruff Custom Designs are preppy and fun and perfect for summer parties, bridal showers or even a sweet 4th birthday party. Anders Ruff is revered in the graphic design industry for their lovely design work and attention to details.
Because invitations are the first impression party guests have of the event to come and also the first glimpse of the party theme, I loved the “extras” Anders Ruff included in their invitation suite to add that “wow” factor. Personalized details on enclosure cards and to/from address labels for the envelopes allowed Krista to send gorgeous customized invitations to Kennedy’s party guests. Little details like these set the tone for what will follow.
Having friends that own a wonderful entertainment space is a bonus, but when they allow you to use that space and set up a beautifully customized event, that is truly the icing on the proverbial cake. Held at Charlie’s Safari Family Fun Center, a popular indoor play land full of adventure, Krista set out to make her daughter’s flamingo birthday party dreams come true.
For starters, the sweet birthday girl was outfitted in a custom flamingo tank top made by Sweet Threads Clothing. Her little sister had a custom logo tee to match. Aren’t they darling?
Tables were set using popular “party paper” from SmashCake & Co., as table runners. Eye catching black and white paper products (available for purchase by emailing Hoopla Events) highlighted each spot.
Adorable water bottles with custom themed beverage wrappers and sweet flamingo straws accented each place setting.
Gorgeous centerpieces designed by Stems Floral Design were embellished with party paper ribbon and mini flamingo yard ornaments and adorned the tables.
Krista loved adding height to her table by adding festive polka dot balloons to each chair. They helped complete the look and add a feeling of festiveness to the party space.
For the main meal, party guests enjoyed pizza and appetizers made by Charlie’s Safari staff.
Krista added a little flair to her vegetable and fruit cups by putting them in clear cups and lining them with cupcake wrappers sold in her Etsy shop.
An extra beverage station was set up with more cute flamingo straws and custom wrapped water bottles. Flamingo tumblers from I Have A Favor were the perfect cups for the birthday girl and her sister to drink out of.
Because ice cream is one of Kennedy’s favorite treats, an ice cream bar was a natural choice for her celebration, along with traditional cake. Inspired by a darling canopy from Sugar Chic Events, Krista had her husband put his handyman skills to great use and build her the base. A local custom sewing vendor, Especially Made Designs, sewed the pink and white striped canopy.
To dress up the ice cream bar, Krista framed 3 custom designed printable art pieces from Anders Ruff and added some gorgeous floral arrangements with flamingo picks from Stems Floral Design atop pink cake stands for height.
To keep things simple, she served 3 flavors of ice cream and featured a variety of fun toppings for the guests to choose from. Cute wooden scoops from SmashCake & Co., made it easy for serving the toppings.
Guests loved the sprinkles served up in Hoopla Events’ very own ceramic letter dishes (email them if you are interested in purchasing these letters). Custom wrapped whipping cream bottles looked so cute on the table, as did ribbon embellished jars of ice cream syrups and sauces!
A pink flamingo birthday party wouldn’t be quite the same without some pink flamingos. Be sure to peek at the perfectly pink flamingo cookies by Sugar Canvas Boutique Bakery. They were a hit with the crowd.
Adorable ice cream cups were dressed up in printable party logos and were accompanied by trendy striped wooden utensils from Pretty My Party . Aren’t the little details that tie the theme together so fun?
Cake is such a traditional part of birthday celebrations that Krista just had to include one. Christina of 4 Kids Cake designed a gorgeous two tiered flamingo cake with polka dots and stripes to coordinate with the invitation and printables.
Thoughtful favors are a must at Hoopla Events’ parties! Because Krista had so many cute ideas for favors, she decided to feature 3 on a separate favor table and let the guests choose their favorite to take home.
One of the choices was chocolate flamingo suckers by Autumn Lynn’s Chocolate Sins.
They looked impressive on a tiered display stand. Push pops with vinyl flamingo accents by I Have A Favor, filled with jelly beans were another fun option.
Finally, guests could choose beautiful custom fondant topped cupcakes (4 Kids Cake) to go and carry them in adorable cupcake boxes. Isn’t the little “thank you” tag so sweet?
Anders Ruff designed a colorful happy birthday banner for the front of the table as well as a custom sign inviting guests to choose their favorite sweet.
As for entertainment, Charlie’s Safari was a great place to let the kids run and play. From bouncy houses, climbing structure, laser tag and video games, the kids were able to let loose and have fun being “kids”. Charlie’s Safari can accommodate a variety of party sizes with all of the different rooms to choose from. Each guest left the party exhausted from having a ton of fun!
What a fun celebration for one sweet little girl! The kids and parents all had a great time, and Krista is so grateful for everyone who came to celebrate Kennedy’s 4th birthday, flamingo style!
