A little less than a year ago we met the amazing Chana Wood, owner of Sugar Wood, a creatively inspired petite treat company! We initially fell in love with the look of her treats (our love for the taste soon followed) and knew we wanted her to be a part of Anders Ruff as a reference for our clients in our Favorite Things section. That was the just the beginning as Chana soon became a triple threat contibutor for Anders Ruff. The most recent being the photographer who shot the photos for our styled Swan Princess party. #swanprincessfun She has also shared two parties she has thrown for her precious little girls, a Mermaid party and a Sunshine party and provided the Super Oreos (aka Super Yummy) for Piersons Comic Book Super Hero party. Dessert, design, and photography – now that is some serious talent!
Chanas love for baking stemmed from hours of her childhood being spent on the farm and in the kitchen with her Grandmother where together they would bake cookies for the farm hands cutting hay in the fields. Chana uses her Grandmas recipes as the basis for many of her recipes and every happy memory from those days is evident in her desserts. As talented of a baker as she is, she is every bit as amazing as a photographer. She loves taking photos of families, weddings, engagements and also has a love of taking food and product photos. Below are samples of some of her photography work and all the food photos are Sugar Woods yummy treats! Including her absolutely delicious and sweetly addicting Sea Salt Topped Carmel Shortbread.
Chana’s world is “a place where photography, event design, and baking all live happily ever after” and quite successfully at that! Here’s a sweet photo of Adria, Maureen and Chana during their Swan Princess shoot. Their little tootsies make me giggle as it’s a true sign of who is use to the Midwest winter and who is not!
LOVE Chana!!! Loved her the moment I was positioned next to her at an event last summer…although I do not love the 10 pounds I gained from her Sea Salt Caramel (aka crack for the sugar addicted)! And even loved more the photos she took of my husband and I and our pooch, Nelli. Chana is a true friend, and absolute blessing for the rest of us!! SO Glad you featured her and her work on your site ~ no one is more deserving!
I agree 100% with you on ALL of it….loving her, the 10 lbs. on the Sea Salt Caramels, and being a blessing to every person her path crosses! We really couldn’t love her any more than we do!
Love Chana even though we have never met 🙂 I went to her blog and read her story under “Living Authentically” What a great story and amazing journey. If you haven’t read it, you should. She had me at Oprah and Brene Brown! Love those ladies. Good luck, wishing you all the best! Sending you warm hugs from the sandy beaches and beautiful islands of the Bahamas xo
