Ruff Draft: Spooky Ghost Boo Gifts

Making boo gifts for Halloween

Ghost Boo Gifts with Mason Jars

This week is your last week to pass around Boo Gifts and today I wanted to share with you the Ghost Boo Gifts we made for Grayce’s friends.  My girls love this tradition and ask me every year to participate. We don’t live in a neighborhood full of kids, so we just drop off Boo Gifts to close friends even if they have already been booed in their neighborhood.  I decided this year to figure out a way to keep our Boo Gifts inexpensive but still be creative and fun!  I looked around the house to see what supplies I could collect starting with containers and craft supplies.  I typically have lots of mason jars because they are inexpensive and good for crafting.  I always have spray paint on hand and construction paper.  I looked up halloween mason jars to see what ideas were out there and saw some cute ghost laterns.  I knew this would be perfect for our Boo Gifts. I wanted to put a little bit of candy in them, so I used tissues, lollipops, straws and ribbon to create the classic ghost lollipop.  The only item I had to purchase was a bag of lollipops because I had everything else at home.  I seriously spent $1 total… impressive, right?

Here is how you make Ghost Boo Gifts:
Supplies
Mason Jars
White spray paint
Black construction paper (or black card stock)
Tissues
Straws
Ribbon
Lollipops (I used tootsie roll pops)
Floral foam blocks
Printable Boo Sign – I used the Spooky Forest Sign and you can find it here.
LED lights (optional)

Creating ghost boo gifts from mason jarsDirections
1. Spray mason jars (I spray the outside of them) and allow dry time.
2. Cut out eyes and mouths from black paper
3. Tape or glue ghost faces to the jars.
4. Insert floral foam into bottoms of jars (so you can stick out the ghosts and boo sign without it moving around)
5. Create your lollipop ghosts by taping lollipop stick inside paper straws (to give entended length), covering with tissue and adding ghost faces.

7. Add an LED light inside the jar (so it lights up) and drop off at night time!
