This summer, AR Workshop and OOLY (two women-owned businesses), partnered to bring creativity to a summer art camp program for kids. We loved working together with OOLY to spark imagination during two unique art-focused camp series. If you’re new to the OOLY brand, they are a whimsical and colorful arts and crafts brand that makes a myriad of expressive and creative items for kids, adults, and everyone in between. Known for fun and trend-forward products, OOLY sparks imagination and inspires self-expression, inviting you to “Create your happy!” They were a perfect match with our boutique DIY studio workshop. We like to think of ourselves as the destination for all things DIY! After all, our charming boutique studios ARe designed to inspire creativity through hands-on craft classes, group activities, private pARties, summer ARt camps, and a curated retail selection of gifts, home decor, and DIY-to-Go kits. Together we promoted art, creativity, hands-on STEAM learning in memorable crafting experiences–a multi-day Studio Arts camp and an 80s Week art camp. We are excited to share the photos and how each company felt about the partnership.

Maureen and Adria (co-founders of AR Workshop) shared that in AR Workshops they see kids express themselves in such a unique and creative way through art. “OOLY makes it easy to showcase your creativity with bold, trend-forward, high quality products,” they said.
AT OOLY x AR Workshop summer camps, everyone is an ARtist! The camp was geared towards children ages 7 to 14. Four and five day camp series options were offered at over 120 AR Workshop locations around the country.
In the Studio Arts Series, crafters explored their imagination and unleashed their creativity by learning unique watercolor, line and squeegee art techniques. They created custom wood hangers to display their art and got to take home an OOLY product filled tote.
During the ’80s Week Series, crafters brought back the ‘80s vibe with a new spin on some favorite totally tubular art projects from the decade. In this series, campers created spin art, geometric patterns, and DIY denim art using their favorite pieces from home.
Why watch paint dry when you can keep the creativity flowing? During each OOLY x AR Workshop Camp series, campers were invited to the spARe Time area while their craft projects were drying. This area featured a variety of OOLY’s arts and crafts supplies and unique coloring printables for campers to experiment with.
