We are excited to show you a fun summer kid craft – Painted Washer Jewelry. My kids have been begging me to do a craft with them all summer, and I finally broke down and pulled out my paint, paint brushes and my favorite TWINE from The Twinery. I researched online, looking to see what we could create, and after seeing cute painted washer jewelry I knew this would be the perfect craft for my girls! I found washers & beads laying around my house (ok, in the garage for the washers) and grabbed a little glitter tape as well. I wanted to give this adorable craft more bling (glitter tape has been my “go to” lately). Then I lined my table with craft paper, so we could paint and glitter away all day!
Supplies Needed:
Acrylic paint
Paint brushes (We like a variety set like this)
Painting trays
Baker’s Twine
Washers – various sizes
Glitter Tape (We love this brand here and here)
Scissors
Beads
Hole Punch
Needle/thread
Directions:
1. First we started by painting the washers in various colors. We painted both sides (with appropriate drying time), and did a few coats of paint as well.
2. While the paint was drying, we covered some other washers in glitter tape. We trimmed the edges and used a hole punch to cut out the centers.
3. Once the washers were complete, we stacked them together and added various colors of twine. Then we added beads for the final touches.
4. We tied knots at the end of each piece of twine to keep ends from raveling.
For the above bracelet – I sewed on seed beads and made a really long bracelet strap so it could wrap around your wrist.

Tie on each jewelry piece with a bow around your neck or wrist.
Try stacking a few necklaces together for more interest!
How fun would this craft be to go along with our Glam Camping Printables? Or even better…. make these at a Jewelry Birthday Party!
We had so much fun today creating painted washer jewelry – and the glitter tape was the perfect bling needed to make them ultra glam!
My daughters will love this!
