Ruff Draft: DIY Twine Carrots for Easter

DIY Twine Carrots for Easter

I cannot believe Easter is just a few weeks away! I have already started getting out my Easter decor and pulled out my fabric bunnies I shared with you from last year. It occurred to me that I did not have any carrots for my cute little bunnies… so I found out how to make DIY Twine Carrots and I used Baker’s twine for a modern look to compliment my bunnies.

Supplies needed:

Baker’s Twine (We love The twinery for white and orange or solid orange)
Scrap paper (I used packaging paper)
Tape – regular or double-sided
Scissors
Hot glue
Fake grass blades

DIY twine carrots

Directions:

1. Mold packaging paper into a carrot shape and tape in place with regular or double-sided tape. (I noticed that double-sided tape helped hold the twine in place as well when you wrap the carrot mold… but double-sided tape is a little sticky when handling the carrot)
2. Poke hole at top of carrot and insert a few peices of fake grass blades (I pulled about 6 blades off of the large grass stick)
3. Glue or tape grass blades in place.
4. Starting at the bottom, glue or tape the twine to get started and wrap up the carrot until you reach the top.  Allow the paper lumps to shape naturally – when the twine is completely done it really looks like a carrot with the paper lumps.
