I don’t know about you guys, but I am loving Elle King’s son Ex’s and Oh’s and I think it couldn’t be more perfect for Valentine’s Day. (especially for those with a good sense of humor). To keep along with this whimsical theme, I wanted to create some Valentine’s Day XOXO Decor for my mantel. I wanted to use rose gold, pinks and reds mixing with twine and burlap for a romantic rustic feel. I am sharing with you today the XOXO burlap banner and XOXO twine wrapped letters that you can make with a few basic supplies.
Supplies needed:
XOXO wooded letters
Burlap
Twine
Rose Gold Spray Paint
Mini sized clothes pins
Basic letter stencils
Gold Sharpie Marker
Duct Tape
XOXO Burlap Banner
Directions:
1. Line back of burlap with rows of duct tape for stability (a quick backing solution which keeps burlap from fraying and makes the burlap more durable)
2. Cut triangles of size of your choice
3. Stencil XOXO on each triangle with a Gold Sharpie (or color of your choice)
**NOTE: When coloring with marker, make sure to fill in between the burlap threads onto back of duct tape for full color
4. Once complete, string along twine with rose gold spray painted mini clothes pins
Next up: XOXO Wooden Letters Wrapped in Twine
Directions:
1. Spray paint the wooden letters with Rose Gold Spray Paint. Allow dry time
2. With hot glue, wrap twine around each letter.
3. You can wrap in small sections to give interest and still allow the sparkly rose gold paint to shine through.
4. Hang with clear cording from mantel or sit on display.
** NOTE: Add some fresh flowers in burlap wrapped bottles and tie with twine. I used an old window, painted it red and sprayed rose gold paint over top then sanded to soften the look for added interest to my mantel.
