4th of July Picnic

We are loving this lakeside 4th of July Picnic styled by Hey Girl Events!

Hey! It’s Pam and Katie here from Hey Girl Events. We are so excited to share our fun 4th of July picnic with you. The weather is warm, the grass is green and it’s time to make the most of these perfect days. We couldn’t imagine planning something inside on a beautiful, Colorado day – so we took it outside and let the serene nature of a local lake be our backdrop. We loved Anders Ruff’s take on a nautical red, white and blue theme – and what better theme for a lakeside picnic?

Anders Ruff gave us great inspiration with their adorable printables. Let’s start with the nautical pieces that we picked up. Target was a big help in this area! We love the anchor marquee light. It gave the picnic such a whimsical feel. And it’s battery operated to boot, so it makes outdoor use a snap (or the flick of a switch). We also scored a great sailboat from Target that really tied the theme together. We wanted to keep the place settings simple for easy transport to and from the picnic. We chose outdoor friendly plates from Target as well as the fun star shaped berry bowls. The place settings were finished off with fun bottle labels and straw flags from the Anders Ruff collection.

No gathering is complete without a sweet treat. We love the cupcake wrappers from Anders Ruff because they add such an important finishing touch to the desserts. If you want more flare you can always add one of the darling cupcake toppers. One of our favorite parts of this party was the picnic area on the grass. We picked a fun blanket from Target that was reversible and was emblazoned with white and blue stars. The packed lunches in the picnic basket added such a great kick to the cozy area.

Our favorite part about this party was all of the fun accent pieces we used. We adore the small vases filled with yellow daisies, the nautical ropes, honeycomb tissue paper balls from The TomKat Studio and Petite Party Studio and the glass jars filled with “America Mix” Skittles. We believe that the details really make the party – and this party is brimming with great accent pieces. What a great way to celebrate such an important holiday. Happy picnicking!
