Jen Carver of Banner Events here to share a 4th of July Party that I put together recently.
We love celebrating Independence Day with an All-American 4th of July celebration. When we realized we were off the hook this year for planning & hosting the big festivities for the 4th, we decided to throw our own 4th of July celebration in honor of the great love we feel for our country and the freedoms we enjoy. We instantly fell in love with the printable “All-American Collection” by Anders Ruff Custom Designs. Incorporating the traditional red, white and blue color scheme, festive patriotic decorations & a few simple homemade and store bought treats, we celebrated the good ol’ USA in style!
With less than 24 hours to pull off our 4th of July celebration, we focused on a simple, but colorful dessert table with some of our family favorites. Our dessert table backdrop was created by covering a large mirror in my living room with some blue wrapping paper from The Dollar Tree, adding an inexpensive patriotic fabric bunting, some eye-catching red, white and blue paper fans and the fabulous printable “July 4th” bunting from Anders Ruff’s collection.
We covered our dessert table with a cherry red table cloth and a red and white striped “party paper” runner from Smash Cake & Co. Red cake plates were raised on red and white Coca Cola crates and provided a home to delicious red velvet cupcakes with the cutest baking cups from Hoopla Events.
We added a little festive flair to each cupcake by topping them off with printable logos using label paper from Online Labels and designs from the “All-American Collection”. We affixed the labels to paper straws from Hoopla Events.
In the center of our table was a pretty white square cake stand displaying store bought sugar cookies with sprinkles and royal blue frosting. My kids love these!
Tall apothecary jars, embellished with patriotic ribbon and filled with sparkly star garland from The Dollar Tree, flanked each side of the cookie stand. Mini pies, tied up in blue and white twine and accessorized with flag picks were neatly displayed on more white cake stands.
We tried a new recipe this year. Stacked red velvet star brownies with vanilla icing and blueberry topping were added to the menu. These were so delicious and simple to make using a star cookie cutter, store bought brownie mix and frosting. Don’t they look pretty lined up on the white platters?
A trendy addition to our dessert table was the ceramic candy dish letters which spelled out USA. We filled the dishes with red, white and blue candies for easy nibbling.
Finally, we included a few red and white striped favor bags to hold some American flags. (If we had hosted guests for this party, they would have been a great option to send guests home with some of their favorite treats.)
Our dining table was full of fun 4th of July inspiration. I love setting colorful place settings by layering chargers and plates. We used royal blue chargers for this tablescape and stacked the darling red/white striped paper plates from Hoopla Events on top. We displayed red, white and blue napkins in coordinating striped paper water cups.
We also included glass milk bottles with precious “I Love USA” beverage wraps and a paper party straw with a preppy party flag for those who wanted to have something in addition to water to quench their thirst. (We had red and blue Gatorade.) Of course, the label paper from Online Labels , made it so easy to affix these 4th of July labels to the glass bottles and straws.
We added red and blue take-out boxes to the table as well, so our kids could claim their treats at the treat table and save some for later. We loved adding the darling heart logo to the front of each container and embellishing each with a printable tag, tied up with twine. Our centerpiece was created by adding some artificial flowers to an old metal milk jug, adding a cute 4th of July label to the front and carefully placing party picks we made from elements of Anders Ruff’s collection to paper straws. We thought it looked so festive!
Whether you celebrate big or small on the 4th of July, we hope your 4th of July celebration is full of the All-American details that remind you of your gratitude for the blessings you enjoy by living here. From our home to yours, Happy 4th of July!
