It’s still September, so the likelihood you’ve been “BOOd” or have “BOOd” anyone else is slim. However, with Halloween candy, decorations, and costumes lining the shelves at local retail stores, it’s obvious that BOOing season is right around the corner! In fact, October is less than a week away! Now is the perfect time to prep your BOO baskets and one of our cute AR Workshop BOO door signs!
If you’re stumped as to what this BOOing business is all about and why you need a basket & door hanger, keep reading and check out the video tips for curating the perfect Halloween BOO baskets.
The tradition of BOOing has been happening for years. It’s essentially a “ding dong ditch” style game played during October, mostly in neighborhoods. A BOO-er puts together a basket filled with Halloween goodies and leaves a sign for the unsuspecting neighbors to hang on their door signifying they’ve been BOOd. Once BOOd, the recipient has a couple of days to BOO other neighbors and also hangs the BOO sign on their own door so neighbors will know their house has already been BOOd.
Traditionally, you make two baskets of goodies & signs for two other houses. After the sun sets, you sneak up to another house without a BOO sign, ring the doorbell & leave the basket. The goal is to be long gone by the time the person opens the door!
The fun of Halloween BOOing is great for young kids, families, and even adults!
Maureen and Adria selected their BOO supplies from Target! They found a few fun treats from the Dollar section – because that’s where it’s at! They also picked up a few snacks & treats for the adults of the household.
It’s a fun way to leave a little surprise for the kids next door or even a BFF.
If you’re looking for a cute way to incorporate your Boo sign with your front porch decor or want to share your favorite girl’s night out activity, treat yo’self (or your neighbor!) to one of our new BOO door hangers!
