Today we are so excited to reveal our newest Vintage Rock & Roll Party Invitation from a private event we helped throw for Tommy DeCarlo of the legendary rock band BOSTON, along with his family and close friends.  Tommy’s family asked me to create simple yet personal party decor to surprise him on his 50th birthday, “50 ROCKS” being the theme.  We used vintage elements of vinyl records to help showcase the original Boston vinyl albums, along with accents of gold and lots of candid photos (of Tommy on tour and as a young child).

I created a photo banner of candid pictures taken at Boston’s 2015 tour (Charleston, SC show) of Tommy singing, dancing and entertaining on stage! (He is one hell of a performer – if you haven’t had a chance to see him, you need to do so!!!)  I also created gold glitter circle banners and pennants that said “50 ROCKS”.

For the tables – I took large vinyl records and created stands for candles (wrapped in music patterned paper) and added vases with gold rocks , old photos and music icons on skewers.

Vinyl Record Table Stand:
1. Spray paint a plastic martini shaped glass (I went to goodwill to find some)
2. Glue record to upside down glass with hot glue or permanent glue
3. Wrap stem with gold glitter tape and layer top of record with gold glitter paper for final touch

For all you Carolina local fans, when Tommy isn’t touring with Boston, he has another band DECARLO who features Tommy DeCarlo, his son Tommy DeCarlo Jr and drummer Dan Hitz.  You can check out their upcoming fall shows here.
