A Banana Split Ice Cream Party

Lydia Menzies of The Party Wagon here to share a recent Banana Split Ice Cream Party that I styled!

Nothing says summer like ice cream, so why not make it an extra-special memory with an extra-special treat?! Invite friends over and get everyone into the fun by building your own banana splits- and be sure to line them up for one really l-o-n-g ice cream treat that leaves everyone so glad they came!

Having everyone build his/her own banana split is easy when you pre-scoop the ice cream and have it ready to serve from a container.  Put the treats in cute banana boats, and line them up with each guest’s name on an Anders Ruff printable party flag…

Maureen designed the cutest collection for this banana split party- I was so happy with the way she matched the plates that we used for the party!  With a big mix of patterns and colors, the paper signs and tags from Anders Ruff tied it all together!

Each of the toppings was served in mini ice cream cones so that the children could choose what they liked and sprinkle it on!  It helped limit portions and was lots of fun for the kids!  Who doesn’t love an itty bitty cone, anyway?

And of course, the cherries for the tops!

Breyers Ice Cream Toppings supplied many of the toppings and the syrups- we were asked to taste Breyers’ new topping products (free of high fructose corn syrup)…needless to say, the toppings were a hit!  And, so were the bottles with bottle wrappers by Anders Ruff!

Favor boxes were made by Piggy Bank Parties and tied with a tag from Anders Ruff…

I printed the SUMMER banner from the collection and used it on a felt banner that I already had.  It was easy to use Glue Dots to adhere the letters!

Enjoy the fun of summer- and I hope you have a chance to throw a fabulous, easy, affordable banana split party!
