We are so in love with this tutorial that we are going to share today from our Angry Birds Toons party. Learn how to make Angry Birds Cookies! These little Minions from Angry Birds Toons are SO easy to make and the kids love them! We whipped them up without even turning on an oven!
Wouldn’t these cookies be adorable to give as a favor along with the Angry Birds Toons DVD?!
Follow these steps to make your own!
INGREDIENTS AND MATERIALS NEEDED:
– Green Melting Chocolates (We mixed the lime and the kelly green to create the nice color)
– Piping Bags or these handy awesome Kuhn Rikon Cookie Decorating Set of icing tubes (Find them here)
– Oreo or Sandwich Cookies
– Mini and Regular Sized M&Ms (green!)
– Royal Icing (Make using the instructions on your Meringue Powder container – You will need Black and White)
– Oreo Cookie Mold (optional – to cover the Oreos with chocolate nicely)
– Parchment Paper or Waxed Paper
STEP 1:
Make your pig noses. Use black royal icing to add two dots to the regular sized m&ms.
STEP 2:
Mix your green chocolate. We mixed the lime and dark green melts to get the nice medium green color.
STEP 3:
Take your Oreo Mold and add a small drop of melted chocolate to the bottom of the mold
STEP 4:
Place an Oreo or sandwich cookie in each mold. Gently press down so that the chocolate on the bottom comes up on the sides of the cookies.
STEP 5:
Add another drop of green chocolate to the tops of the cookies.
STEP 6:
To get the bottoms smooth, we put a piece of waxed paper or parchment on top and smooth out until it dries. Let the cookies cool for at least 15 minutes. I put mine in a freezer to speed up the process. Pop them out of the mold once they are completely dried through.
STEP 7:
Next, you are going to stick your little pig ears on (mini m&ms). We found that using some of the extra green melting chocolate was the easiest way to stick the m&ms to the oreo sides. Dip the little tip of the mini m&m into the melting chocolate and hold it in place on the side of the oreo. We stood our Oreos upright so that the little m&ms had time to dry in place.
STEP 8:
Stick the little m&m pig noses to the center of your cookies using a dab of melting chocolate.
STEP 9:
Now, you are going to make your pig eyes. You can use your royal icing to make two round eyes on each side of the nose. Immediately after doing your white eye dot, add a small black eye dot with your black royal icing.
STEP 10:
Now, add your features using black royal icing. We added a little eyebrow and a little mouth.
Let them dry completely and enjoy! The kids LOVED these!
