We are so excited to show you how to make these precious Angry Birds Marshmallows today from our Angry Birds Toons Party that we shared this week! You may have seen the Angry Birds Cookie tutorial that we shared yesterday, and today we have another easy no-bake recipe! This tutorial is so simple and with Red being one of the favorite Angry Birds Toons characters, we think this will be a popular treat at your Angry Birds Toons party!
Wouldn’t these marshmallows be adorable to serve your guests at a viewing party to watch the Angry Birds Toons DVD?!
INGREDIENTS & MATERIALS NEEDED:
– Red Melting Chocolates
– Piping Bags or these handy awesome Kuhn Rikon Cookie Decorating Set of icing tubes (Find them here)
– Giant Marshmallows (Cut in half)
– Red Chocolate Covered Sunflower Seeds (Candy Galaxy has them!)
– Royal Icing (Make using the instructions on your Meringue Powder container – You will need Black and White)
– Wooden Skewers or White Lollipop Sticks
– Parchment Paper or Waxed Paper
– Orange Starbursts (or fondant)
– Rolling Pin
STEP 1:
Cut the giant marshmallows in half so they are half the thickness. Stick a skewer or lollipop stick into the marshmallow.
STEP 2:
Melt your red chocolate melts in the microwave.
STEP 3:
Dip your marshmallow into the red chocolate, leaving the bottom portion white (for the body of the bird)
STEP 4:
Open up the orange Starbusts and if needed, stick in the microwave for 5-8 seconds to soften it up. Roll it flat with a rolling pin or fondant roller. (Note you can also use fondant if you don’t want to use Starbursts, but I think starbursts are easier and yummy). Cut the Starbursts into triangle shapes to create the beak of the bird. Piece 2 triangles together to make the top and bottom beak.
STEP 5:
Use more of the red melting chocolate to stick the beak on the bird.
STEP 6:
Use your white royal icing to make two eyes on the bird right above the beak. Immediately use the black royal icing to create the black portion of the eyes.
STEP 7:
Next, use the black royal icing to create the eyebrows.
STEP 8:
Next, use your red chocolate sunflower seeds to create the feather on top of the red bird’s head.
Use your red melting chocolates to adhere them to the top of the bird head. We found that it holds better if you hold the bird upright while you are attaching it to the top of the head. It hardens pretty quickly, so this is pretty simple. We adhered 2 to the top for the feathers.
Let the birds dry completely and then display at your party! Enjoy!
