Super Sparkle comes to life today because Barbie in Princess Power DVD and Blu-Ray is on shelves at Walmart! We couldn’t be more thrilled to debut our Barbie in Princess Power Viewing Party with loads of ideas, activities and ways to use the FREE downloadable Printables that we deisgned (only when you purchase the movie from Walmart in marked packages).

Today we are sharing all of the fantastic Barbie Party ideas, and stay tuned this week for more in depth tutorials, recipes and crafts! Our little guests had the most “super” day and we have ways for you to recreate this at home!

Some of the little guests at our Barbie Party fell in love with these details you won’t want to miss:
– Barbie in Princess Power movie viewing snack boxes with decorated “Pop!” bottle, candy boxes, pretzel and toys.
– Barbie Bingo game to play while watching the movie
– Super Hero themed coordinating lunches including Super Sparkle water.
– Butterfly Marshmallow Pops on sticks
– Gorgeous super hero skyline backdrop for the sweets table with Super Sparkle flying overhead

Our little guests joined us for a full movie viewing party and of course had to start off by dressing for the occasion at our Glam Station.  We took a desk and mirror and placed it in the hallway outside a bedroom and turned it into the makeup vanity.  We used pink curtains and used a tension rod to place the curtains in the doorway, making the bedroom the “changing station”.  The makeup station included chap sticks, makeup brushes and nail polish (which were embellished with a printable wrapper).  We also had candy bracelets for the girls as well as adorable Cape and Mask sets.

The girls all got to put on adorable tutus and tanks with a butterfly clip from Strawberrie Rose.

Once the girls were dressed for the viewing party, they headed down to the Barbie in Princess Power movie room that we set up.

We dressed up an Ikea mirror with ribbon and a free printable so that the girls could see how “super” they looked in all of their Barbie in Princess power gear during the party.

A giant Barbie in Princess Power movie poster was hung to make it feel like they were at the theater!

barbie movie viewing party setup

Seating was arranged and the Barbie in Princess Power movie viewing snack boxes were set at each girls’ place.  We added a printable to the adorable pink totes from Nashville Wraps.

The movie snack boxes included a soda bottle wrapped with our printable “Pop” wrapper, a Bingo game card, a popcorn box (which is also a printable!), a pretzel and candy boxes (that were turned “super” by wrapping with our printable wrappers!)

The printable banner was hung on the Ikea console to help make the room feel even more “super!”

The girls LOVED watching the movie all dressed up in their costumes.  The snack boxes were a huge hit and of course they loved playing the Barbie Movie Bingo game while the movie played.  (These are printable, too! Every time they saw an object on the bingo board, they would mark it off with their little Barbie tape (you could also use stickers)).

The room had a snack station as well as a dessert table.  The huge Barbie super emblem was hung on the wall above the snack station and was gorgeous!  The snack station was a small Ikea table that we placed a building to add height (Buildings were easy to create – tutorial coming this week!)  We had popcorn boxes lined with tissue paper (boxes are a free printable, too!).  We also had a pink tray of candy bars wrapped with the printable chocolate bar wrapper, a candy container and Super Sparkle Water.

All of the Barbie in Princess Power printables tied the theme together making for the most perfect Barbie in Princess Power viewing party.   (Don’t forget to go to Walmart to purchase the Barbie in Princess Power movie in order to get these downloads for free!)

Sparkly candy from Miami Candies was perfect to fill these cute jars.  The girls got to take these home as favors.

Once the girls were done watching Barbie in Princess Power, they were ready to enjoy their lunches and the sweets at the dessert table.super sparkle

barbie sweets table

The dessert table was such a hit and added such a fun pop of color (and sweetness!)

This week we will show you how to create the buildings for the backdrop as well as some of the desserts on the table.

We used an Ikea desk as our table and put a printed backdrop behind the table to add a pop of color.  Print My handled printing for us and the color really popped so much!

The talented Mandie of Got What It Cakes made this gorgeous cake and we added the Barbie in Princess Power printable topper to help it coordinate with our special party.

We made these chocolate marshmallow butterfly pops (tutorial and recipe coming later this week so tune in!).  Since the butterfly is pretty important in the movie, these were a fun way to add more girlie sweets to the table.  “YUM” printable callouts were added onto the buildings to add some more super hero fun.

barbie butterfly pops

Butterfly Dust candy was a hit on our sweets table and after the girls watched the movie they understood what it meant. (You’ll have to buy the movie to see!)

We filled Nashville Wraps clear containers with powdered candy from Miami candies and embellished it with a Butterfly Dust printable topper.  To enjoy, the girls used yellow rock candy stick (decorated with a butterfly printable on the handle) to dip into their powdered pink butterfly dust.  What a fun treat!

Incredible cookies were made by Sweet Sugar Belle.  We stuck the Barbie emblem cookies out of the building to add those as a pop of color.

Using printables from the set, we dressed up cupcakes with a printable wrapper and mask cupcake toppers on toothpicks and all of the sudden our yummy white cupcake fit the part on the dessert table.

Our little guests loved the entire party setup and were thrilled to get to dress the part.  We had lots of Barbie in Princess Power party favors and toys, books, dolls for the girls to take home (all available at Walmart!).  They loved browsing the room to see what their favorite item was!

Once the movie was over, the girls enjoyed a special Princess Power lunch at our Super Hero themed eating table.

barbie lunch

The Super Hero lunches were so easy and adorable to assemble!  Using a pink plate, we served “Hero Sandwiches” which were just turkey and cheese on sub rolls with white butcher paper wrapped around and the “Hero Sandwich” printable topper.  Containers of Pineapple were served and topped with a “super fruity!” printable topper.  Layered jello stars were embellished with a printable party flag (recipe and tutorial coming this week!), star cheese and crackers as well as a gorgeous “Glam” cookie by Sweet Sugar Belle.

Even our plastic utensils were dressed up!  We hot glued rhinestones onto regular plastic forks and spoons to make them feel more “super!”.

The girls loved drinking their “Super Sparkle” water out of straws that had printable barbie faces glued on them.

barbie water bottles

The centerpieces of the eating table were clear glass square containers filled with various candies from Miami Candies.  We embellished the containers to look like buildings and even added “YUM” callout bubbles and a few sparkly butterflies to tie into the elements and theme of the movie.

The girls loved our craft idea which was to make Glam Bands which is what all super heros should wear on their wrists! We will be showing the tutorial later this week.

  1. I received my copy of the movie via pre-order at Target. Can I get these downloads too? Perhaps for a fee?

  2. I purchased the dvd from Walmart, where is the promo code?? Looked thru the dvd and could not find it. Where do I look???

    1. Hi Anita! If your movie has the designs included it will say on the front that there is a downloadable party pack included. Perhaps your store ran out of the ones that included the party designs! You might want to check in with them and see if they have any left in stock. Feel free to email me at heidi@andersruff.com with any additional questions!

  3. Where is the code to get the printables? I purchased at walmart so I could get the printables but can’t find anything on the DVD to get them? I didn’t see on your website that it was only on a certain amount of DVDs. I would have bought it from target if it wasn’t for the party pack because target is cheaper.

  4. Thank you so much for your inspiration! My oldest daughter is a big fan of Barbie movies and she chose this theme for her 9th birthday party based solely on the pictures from your website. She hadn’t seen the movie yet but when I mentioned we would play “superhero games” she was hooked! I just bought the DVD at Wal-Mart so I could get the printable package, and I was able to download it using the enclosed code. Thank You! For other readers, you should note that the code is printed on the inside of the shrink wrap plastic, so make sure you don’t throw it away!

  5. Is there a way to purchase the party pack? I am in the same boat as Chelsea, and didn’t realize that it was only specific copies of the DVD with the code..

  6. I purchased the DVD at Wal-Mart but am unclear as to how I redeem and where the code is and should be input. Can you email me details for purchase if the Barbie Princess Power is no longer available for free.
    Thank you!

  7. Love this!! So sad that I already have the movie and didn’t get this awesome deal because my daughter wants a party like this.

  8. I’m looking for the party favors. Where did you get the markers and coloring pad?
