We get a lot of requests for character and commercial themed parties.  We limit the custom work that we can take when related to commercial characters.  They are a challenge and are limiting, but can be fun.  One that is pretty popular in our shop is the “Sesame Street or Elmo Inspired” design.

I wanted to display an example of how “commercial” parties can be simple and still cute without being “character overboard”.

Sarina of Swanky Sweet Designs sent us some photos from a display she put together that would be precious for an Elmo/Sesame Street inspired birthday party.  We wanted to share a few photos with you all.

I love the polkadot plates (above) that the cupcakes are displayed on.  Recognize them from Super P’s party!? (Ours were black – from Target).  I like how she didn’t make the setup feel “too character”, but it still fit the theme.  Simple printables can transform the whole scene easily and in a cost effective manner.

I also like the chalkboard to say “take one” and the sketchy writing to make it feel “Sesame Street”.

Sweet little red velvet cupcakes… I like how she picked a dessert that coordinated with the colors.

This shows how customized printables are an effective way to spruce up useful and economical items….water bottles!

Drizzled caramel popcorn…. mmm!
