Jen Carver from Banner Events here to share a colorful & girly glam camping birthday party with you. Inspired by the fabulous invitation and printable décor first seen in the glamping birthday party for Bachelorette star Emily Maynard’s daughter, Ricki, styled by Anders Ruff, I set out to put my own unique twist on an already very popular theme. With vibrant hues of lavender, hot pink and lime green paired with eye-catching polka dots, stripes and chevron, it was fun to mix glittery and glamorous with some rustic, outdoorsy ideas. Welcome to “Camp Kaylee” where I hope the beautiful photos by A Fresh Take Photography will help you feel inspired to bring the outdoors in and celebrate your little girl in style! (Huge thanks to Print My Picture Online for printing all of the printable designs.)
Keep an eye out for these fabulous details:
– Indoor S’mores roasting station table centerpieces and individual s’mores kits.
– “Glam Aid” kits filled with manicure sets, glow sticks, bubble gum, chapstick and more!
– Indoor campground with custom ruffled tents, pillows and blankets.
– Creative toasted marshmallow cookies on sticks displayed in paper wrapped tin cans.

Here in Washington, the month of March definitely “comes in like a lion”. Counting on beautiful outdoor weather for a camping birthday party is not practical. When my daughter told me she wanted an overnight camping themed party for girls, so many fun ideas starting swirling in my head, but I knew we’d have to be able to accomplish them indoors. Immediately, I knew I wanted to create a mini campground with ruffled tents, pillows & blankets for guests to enjoy.
Brenda of Great Stitch took this idea and ran with it, sewing & appliqueing 6 beautiful blankets & pillowcases & masterminding the designs behind 3 coordinating tents. A custom Camp Kaylee felt sign by Linckids, inspired by Anders Ruff’s printable designs, provided a festive backdrop.
The sleeping quarters were a definite highlight of the party! Dolled up in their adorable glam lounge wear by All Ribboned Out, with coordinating necklaces by Weil’d Hair & Accessories and felt flower hair clips by Great Stitch, the girls played, watched movies, danced and sang in this area, with a little sleeping mixed in for good measure.
They loved playing with the contents of their messenger bags by SookEe Designs. Of course, they were filled to the brim with all of the necessary glam camping gear– eye masks for sleeping, a Glam Aid Kit (with supplies for manicures, bottles of polish remover from Vinyl Eloquence, chapstick, loofa, gum, hand sanitizer, etc.), a pink flashlight, stuffed pink poodle and custom water bottle with cute vinyl accents from Creative Designs by Toni.
Our little glam campers feasted on a dinner of hot dogs, baked beans, chips and fresh fruit at their stylish dining table, with adorable place settings comprised of fun products from several wonderful companies. I love layering color coordinating fabrics, chargers & bright plates for a custom look. Mason jars from Oriental Trading Company were glammed up with ribbon, glittered cardstock backed printables & chevron paper straws from Painting Paris Pink. Stamped wooden cutlery and polka dotted napkins were housed in mini paper sacks from CakesandKids.com.
Since camping isn’t really camping without S’mores, I decided to incorporate them in an adorable way at our dining table by putting together a little last minute DIY centerpiece. Using a wooden planter box, some spray painted rocks & pinecones and sterno gel fuel cans, I had the idea to put together an indoor S’mores roasting station. I added a mini ripped fabric bunting to some dowels and a printable chevron bunting to make it fabulous! I put together a display of S’mores roasting sticks for the girls to use.
Mini S’mores kits were packaged in darling mini gable boxes (CakesandKids.com) and dressed up using printable tags and labels from Anders Ruff’s glam camping printable package. Cute stacks of graham crackers and marshmallows were packaged up with twine from The Twinery, and mini Hershey bars from Candy Galaxy were made even more appealing with coordinating printable wrappers. We added a couple of lanterns from Hobby Lobby to carry the campout vibe.
The dessert table is always a much anticipated part of any of our Banner Events celebrations. I bet you’d be hard pressed to find a dessert table like this one out in the woods! I wanted this table to really shine and with glittered custom laser cut wood designs from Ten23Designs inspired by the printable décor, I think we achieved the glamorous camping look we were hoping for.
We brought in some fun natural elements with artificial pine trees & wood tree rounds. We sprinkled the table with some pine cones, added a bundle of wooden sticks, as well as a moss runner. To add some pizzazz, we hung paper fans from Oriental Trading Company around our backdrop. We spray-painted wood crates to help showcase some of our custom dessert creations and add some levels to our dessert display. In the center of our table, we showcased various apothecary jars with colorful candy from Candy Galaxy, and displayed them in a custom laser cut box (Ten23Designs).
Candy is a great dessert table option as it adds much needed pops of color & functions as a tasty treat! Campers were encouraged to fill up the too-cute-for words tent favor boxes from Piggy Bank Parties with lots of sweet treats.
Christina of 4 Kids Cakes is my go-to cake designer. Her two-tiered ruffle cake with edible flowers was a stunning addition to our dessert table. In addition to the cake, Christina also custom designed chevron accented chocolate Oreos to match the party décor & baked fresh chocolate cupcakes. They were unbelievably cute displayed in printable cupcake wrappers topped with the most adorable fondant camping themed designs by Sweet Hearts Desire.
My daughter and her friends are big fans of cake pops & cookies, and these little tent and campfire pops by OMC Bakeshop and super cute marshmallow-on-a-stick cookies by Frog Prince Cake & Cookie Design really hit the spot.
And finally, trail mix was served in small dessert jars with cute tags and wooden spoons.
Fueled up for the long night ahead, our little glamour girls were ready to make some camp crafts.
Crafting baskets were put together for each girl and contained exciting materials from Oriental Trading Company for making loom band bracelets & earrings, decorating a custom “Gone Glamping” print by Anders Ruff in a frame from Print My Picture Online , and decorating personalized camp journals using vinyl accents from Creative Designs by Toni. Products from CakesandKids.com helped to keep each camper’s supplies in order.
Morning came early, which meant time for breakfast! We kept our breakfast menu simple, serving up some easy no-bake options that we glammed up with cute products from CakesandKids.com and more printable elements from Anders Ruff’s collection. Purple “to go” boxes sat ready to be filled for any guest who needed to eat on the run.
There were delicious blueberry muffins and donuts.
Fruit & yogurt parfaits in mason jars looked adorable all dressed up for the party.
Juice was ready for drinking in these farm stand milk bottles. Little fresh fruit cups were also a popular option.
It was a weekend full of fun that definitely left my daughter and her friends as happy campers!
