Let’s tumble and twirl with the birthday girl for Grayce’s 9th gymnastics birthday party! I’m thrilled to finally share with you Grayce’s birthday party from this summer. How could you not love this party with all the cool gym props – from a pink mat and beam… to hula hoops and jump ropes, I made sure the overall feel of the party was a fresh take to a typical gymnastics party. I blended traditional meet elements (like printable 1st, 2nd, 3rd place ribbons, meet scores & score sheets) along with Printable Olympic medals of gold, silver & bronze. The best part – I kept the party on a very small budget even though you would never know it from all the details!

Background behind this party: Grayce made our local gymnastics team this spring and insisted on having a gymnastics birthday party this year. She asked for bold fun colors including pink, aqua, lime green and purple to make it girly and fun! Grayce also asked for glitter and stars to be a part of the design collection along with including it in the table decor. I set up the room so that the girls could participate in gymnastic events as well as timed gym sports (we had a triple hula hoop contest and jump rope contest in addition to our “Birthday Meet”).
I did a pre-photo shoot to show off the most adorable custom Biketards by Just Dance Customs along with these fabulous large crepe hanging paper twirls by Paperwhite Designs. I set out trophies and ribbon wands from Oriental Trading along with printable medals and ribbons from our Gymnastics Collection.
Then I had the full blown party with all the girls!
I set the room with a simple backdrop with a printable gymnastics silhouette and banner. I added printable gymnast silhouettes to the cake and on either side of the shelves as well. I added a hanging printable medal ribbon banner with twine from The Twinery and tiered snacks and tropies on colorful blocks with desserts in front on white trays. Both shelves also had take home bright colored canvas bags with extra favors included. I put out a small table in front that had score boards (erase boards) and printable score sheets, along with water bottles.
Grayce made the stars out of fondant with cookie cutters and I placed them around a store bought cake. Didn’t she do a great job??? I added printable cake toppers for the final details. This was a perfect way to have the look of a designer cake for low costs. We also put the fondant stars on chocolate covered medal cookies I made, and added a printable party logo medal on top.
I made pink and green versions of these chocolate covered oreo cookies, and put them on plates with lined patterned paper. Each cookie came in gold, silver or bronze.
I set out sports drink bottles and filled them with popcorn and added giant pixie sticks which I turned into ribbon wands. Then I gave the girls energy drinks (water bottles) and power bars (chocolate bars) when they needed a little pick me up!
All gymnasts receive flowers when they compete, so I made sure to set out chocolate covered marshmallow flower bouquets with printable leaves.
I lined each ribbon with glitter patterned paper for extra bling which hung from the flower vases!
Another sweet treat I made included chocolate covered pretzel bars (i.e. my version of uneven parallel bars).
I created colorful canvas bags with glitter stars to hold the gymnast’s goodies. Each bag had silly string wrapped in printable patterned paper, and clear cello bags & printable bag toppers with glitter star foam stickers (stuffed with matching tissue paper from Nashville Wraps). I designed personalized star favor tags for each bag as well.
We filled the bags with other favors sitting around the room! Take home items included: hair bands, jump ropes, trophies, silly string, star stickers and various sweets & treats!
I gave each child a dry erase score board and printable score cards for our “Birthday Meet”.
Here are some more detailed shots I love from this gymnastics birthday party!
And onto the party….. below are some fun shots from the actual birthday celebration! We started off with our “Birthday Meet”.. and ended up doing a triple hula contest and jump rope contest! The girls LOVED scoring each other and watching each girl do their tricks! The meet included: floor, beam & ribbon events.
Kicking off with the first event of Floor Routines
Next up was Beam!
The judges weren’t too hard on the girls (they mostly gave 9’s and 10’s) lol.
The girls had a great time with rhythmic gymnastics using the Ribbon Wands. The moves they created were hysterical!
1st, 2nd & 3rd place winners from the “Birthday Meet”!!! They received trophies along with printable medal ribbons (gold, silver & bronze)!
For the hula hoop contest we used 3 hoops… whomever was able to keep them up longest won!
1st & 2nd place winners of the Hula Hoop Contest (below)! No-one could beat Grayce and they tried several times!!!
These silly girls were the perfect group to be a part of “Team Grayce” for Grayce’s 9th Gymnastics Birthday Party.

So much inspiration!!! I found the trophies on OrientalTrading.com – what process did you use to apply the added star paper to it? Any tips appreciated!
Hi Nicole – I just taped the paper around the trophey. Bc it is circular, the paper didn’t line up perfectly in the back, but that is ok.
Absolutely LOVE your ideas!! Everything is so cute!! I can not find the First-Fourth ribbons anywhere!! I would love to use this for my daughters birthday and wanted to see if you had any additional information on these? I just LOVE the colors!!
Thanks so much!
