We wanted to show you a dessert Maureen came up with for the shoot – Meringue Elf Hats – they are just too cute for words!

See the little elf hats sitting on the shelf ?  So sweet!

To get the meringue recipe, click here!

Once meringue is made, add your red food coloring (note – you need a lot of red food coloring)

Put red meringue into piping bag.  Pipe meringue so that it is wider at the base, and then thinner at the top.

While the meringue bakes in the oven, some of the hats will tilt or even fold slightly – just like a real hat would!

Once meringues have hardened/cooled, next comes decorating the hat rim.

Using white melting chocolate, dip the base of the hat in the chocolate.

Then dip the hat into white sprinkes (we used non-pareils beads).

Let them dry and they are ready to serve!

They look just like elf hats!
