Ruff Draft: DIY Fabric Flowers for a special Valentine!

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and what’s better than fresh flowers… fabric flowers!  (they last forever) 🙂

Last year, we created fabric flowers for our I Heart Valentine’s Day photoshoot – we thought we would share this easy DIY project.  It is a perfect way to give flowers to someone special (grandparent, teacher, or even just to sit out in your house for decor – my girls sit these flowers  in their bedrooms).

Pull out your old fabric scraps and let the fun begin!

Supplies needed:

1. Fabric scraps – mix patterns, colors & textures (we even used felt too)

2. Various circle sizes – use glass bottoms, coasters, cans, quarters, etc…

3. Scissors

4. Old buttons

5. Floral green wire

Directions:

First cut several circles in various sizes out of your fabrics (5-7 sizes will create a nice layered affect)

Next take your floral wire, and poke a hole through each layer of fabric starting with the largest circle.

Once you have poked a hole through each layer, push the wire through the button hole, and feed through the second button hole.

Then poke a hole back through all the layers.

Once you have pushed your wire through to the largest circle, twist the wire shut.

Are these super sweet or what?

We will be working on this year’s Sweet Valentine’s Day photoshoot over the next couple of weeks.  Stay tuned for more great ideas along the way!

I don’t know how we will top these little cuties, but just wait until we show off our sweet shop Sweet Valentine’s Day collection, coming soon!
