Guess what??? We are posting our first video tutorial today so you can see us “in action” and get a little glimpse into our world. We always show you pretty pictures, but in reality we typically have dogs barking, kids screaming and a little bit of “crazy” going on, just like most of you! (And yes, this video is as candid as you get!)
Note: We told eachother that we wanted it to be completely “real” and not scripted… and in ONE take. I think next time we will put my dog in the basement for the video! HA! Sorry for the barking nonsense.
Maureen recently threw the most adorable Dinosaur Party for Pierson’s 6th Birthday – full of dinosaur fossils & artifacts… a museum feel with lots of colorful foliage. Today we are going to show you how to create the tissue paper dinosaur leaf garland Maureen hung along her black & white coloring wall poster. It is an inexpensive and simple way to add pops of color throughout your Dino party.
Supplies needed:
Various shades of green tissue paper
Twine
Scissors

Video below: **Note – I’m looking a little angry and old in this video… might be from lack of sleep this week (I was in Milwaukee for a fun shoot!). Maureen says it’s how I always look. AWESOME! Oh… and the leaf shape I was convinced was an Elm, is actually an Oak. So much for my leaf knowledge!!! lol
How to make a leaf garland perfect for a dinosaur party from andersruff on Vimeo.
Directions:
1. Fold tissue paper in half and fold tissue paper one more time (this gives you more leaves per cut)
2. Start at the fold and cut out leaf shape of your choice – leaving a “stem” shape at the fold
3. Place folded leaf along twine and twist at fold around the twine to stay in place.
4. Repeat steps until you have several leaf shapes and colors.
5. Continue to add leaves until garland is complete.
Maureen hung her leaf garland along windows and her black & white coloring poster for pops of color plus bringing in a whimsical foliage look.

Ha! Thank you! We couldn’t believe that the one time we wanted to do a video in ONE take my dog was barking like crazy! HAHA!
Love the video!!! I’m going to have to try to make some of that garland someday!
Such a fun first video! Thanks
