Ruff Draft: DIY Chevron Wrapping Paper and Chevron Stamp

Making chevron wrapping paper and stamp

Cork and Foam Stamp

Today is a great day to celebrate!  Why?  Because it is October 2, and it’s my birthday (my last year in my 30’s, to be exact).  I wanted to post something birthday related, so we thought it would be fun to show DIY Chevron Wrapping Paper and Chevron Stamp!  I love receiving gifts, and I love giving gifts (especially in creative ways). This is a simple way to make one-of-a kind gift wrap, and a perfect kid activity too!  My girls thought this was so cute, that they asked me to make Christmas paper for this year’s Holiday Season!  (of course, with their help)

Supplies needed:
Craft paper
Cork board
5mm foam sheet
Hot glue
Scissors/Ruler
Acrylic paint
Chevron, Stripes & Polka Dots Party Logos for gift tags

Directions:
1. Cut coark board to fit your hand (I made mine 2″ x 6″)
2. Cut strips of chevron out of foam, to the width of the cork board.  I didn’t want mine perfect, so I just cut with scissors free-hand.
3. Glue the foam to the cork with hot glue

4. Spread acrylic paint onto wax paper (or painting tray)
5. Stamp paper to desired length

6. Allow dry time (I put mine in the sun to dry, outside – for quicker drying time)
7. Wrap gifts, add yarn or ribbon and gift tag! (I created matching tags from Chevron, Stripes & Polka Dots Party Logos for the gift tags)

I just love how whimsical, yet rustic this tenique is – I can’t wait to make more this December!
